BLUE MOUNTAIN TO OPEN......SATURDAY?

how far is home? mine are home too (30 min away) but have way too much shit due before finals week. i probably won't hit the slopes till after finals.

from what iv'e been reading on there facebook they may still be opening on saturday but it's only gona be like easy out vista and then come around. With only the one double lift by itself running. For as long as i remember they would have main street open too on opening day but idk about this season.

in the 22 years i've been skiing there, i've never seen them open without mainstreet. it seems like they're actually making a push to compete for people's business by actually listening to their customers, which is awesome, and a lot of people would rather have something to ski, even if it's not top to bottom, and to wait another week, at least, for top to bottom terrain. after tonight, they're not getting snowmaking temps back for at least a week, so it could be a while til anything else opens if they don't get it this weekend.

yeah im sitting in my computer class here in school and was looking at the live cameras, which do not look good. They have the whole mountain covered but it doesnt look likely for this weekend, plus the rising temps wont help either. I'll probably make a trip up to big boulder this weekend if blue doesnt open

On blues facebook they said there opening this weekend. Only with come around easy out and vista. It's going to be so crowded with only 1 double lift running too.

Might as well take a quick run or two if your already up there. Except the lift lines are going to be terrible.

went up sunday for a little while and it was super fun. didn't take a single lift ride cuz of the lines, but hiked the rails on come around for a while. Only three features, but they're all set up pretty much perfectly. Down rail, FDF, and down box. I'd much rather have less features that are set up well than hustle to put more in and spend less time on each. Great job Blue and park crew.

Getting home from college in a week ^.^ Sadly, Blue Mountain will probably not be open by then. So, people on the inside, ETA on Blue opening if the weather is "good"

I don't work for blue or anything but if they can blow every night from tonight on untill friday i'd say they can open for the weekend again and probably stay open then. If not it's gona be the friday after that most likely. They like opening on fridays.

Was so nice to be back on skis for that weekend. After last season ill just be grateful to slide a rail and drink some brews with the homies. Need her to open back up soon, only one back 2 under my belt for this season so far.

No the big air bag is placed at the bottom of the mountain...so whenever the bottom opens 2 weeks after that they'll put the big air bag in

Thanks Blue. Guess I won't be going there for a few weeks. Might just end up waiting until after Christmas to start hitting BC and blue.

nothing at the moment. they're closed. that rain/60º temps fucked everything up. They're looking to reopen this Sunday, the 16th.

Oh my, still? I was up there opening weekend and it was... interesting. I live relatively close to Blue, and it's been nothing but beautiful out the past three days and definitely cold enough to blow at night. Those new guns should be getting nice and broken in.

"Here is the skinny on opening and

snowmaking...last night there was an inversion, it was 19 degrees in the

Valley and a balmy 35 degrees at the Summit! Because of the weather we

won't be open tomorrow, however we are still shooting for Sunday! We

did make snow on nine trails and keep your fingers crossed for lots of

cold weather."
