Blue Mountain PA - 05/06 News!

yeah John and I might as well have been rockin' rentals the way that thing is set-up. The berms need to be on the OUTSIDE of the turns! Hopefully we'll get to shape it up for this weekend.

Shope, you talkin about lower sidewinder? if so, its just like berm around the first turn, same around the second, one roller, another berm, another berm, two rollers that are way to tight, and then a small table. its just an early season setup for now. if anyone has suggestions for park/lower sidewinder I'll write em down and bring em up in the meeting tomorrow night.

oh! i have a suggestion!! I think that they should put giant spikes coming out of the snow between the two rollers to catch people as they are thrown off of them

^get some common sense. you've obviously never been to blue or you would know that a 100 foot table is not possible on the trails trevor asked for suggestions about.

noo reallyy? thats why i was saying you should since u have the vert to work with, i know i would def use that to my advantage and make huge jumps. the ones at boulder are pretty big for what we have, we had a nice 65ft last year

yeah boulder did have some nice hits... sucks that they didnt have them in the slopestyle which consisted only of rails... not much of a slopestyle huh? if you have any inside connections... let them know that jumps would make their z-games 10x better

vertical doesnt matter when you only have 50 yard stretches of straight trail to work with. sidewinder is the worst trail ever to have a park on, and the park crew and groomers know that, but they work with what they have, and so far this year, they've been doing a damn good job. i dont know what 65 footer at boulder you speak of, every time i was there last year they either had no jumps at all, or they sucked, horribly, and i was there for about half of the z games comps. and yeah, its a joke that the slopestyle finals were on the little rail park with ride-on everything. blue's got their shit together this year, and its showing. we had to start from the last feature on the skiercross course, using it as a drop in, to get speed to hit the big lip on the jump in the lower park because they actually made it legit this year.

Yeah, the manager of park crue built that first hit in the park this year is just to show people who are serious about park what Blue is tryin to do this year. When you hit that with enough speed that jump is tight. Justin was bustin a few feet above the lip easy and lookin swell doin it.

You sure it was a 65 footer man? I know they have trouble clearin anything much more than the mid to high 50s down at Bear. I seen some 65 inchers at Boulder that were mad nice for butters. Haha just playin you guys had some good hits over on the right side of the mountain, but nothin over 40 feet at the most.

As for jumps on falls, this is something Ski Patrol and Management have a problem with due to the fact that its a blind landing, and that they havent labeled that run as "freestyle" terrain.

NO HE DIDNT!!! BIRD BUILDS EVERYTHING EVERY YEAR IN THE PARK UR ON CRACK SRY MAYBE HE USED A SHOVEL BUT NO PISTEN BULLY

First of all. With a post like that, its more likely that you're on crack. Second of all. Who the hell is Bird? Are you talking about Dan the Grooomer? None of us know the nicknames of the groomer/snowmaking homies. Thirdly. When I said that the park crue manager built it I did not so much mean that he literally built it, because I'm sure you know that he doesn't operate the Park Bully, but that he had input as to how it was built and the placement of it. Fourth. My post was just saying that the first jump in the lower park is an example of what is to come at Blue. Things will just be on a bigger, hopefully much bigger, scale when we have sidewinder to work with. Lastly. If you're going to post, make sense. If you have a question, ask. But this "NO HE DIDNT!!! BIRD BUILDS EVERYTHING EVERY YEAR IN THE PARK UR ON CRACK SRY MAYBE HE USED A SHOVEL BUT NO PISTEN BULLY" was the dumbest post this thread has yet seen, and hopefully will.

I cannot beleive I spaced on you today, I was just looking at the skis thinking who the hell is on Kevin's wood skis... for some reason I totally ruled out Kevin! DUH!!

Thanks for talking the time to ride with us today, the freeride students were impressed.

woodkit mine

how did the first weekend of freeriders go?? my brother called me and was really pumped about it, i hope that you guys are too.

The first weekend went great. The students are having a ton of fun, and progressing already. We are going to setup a small park in the snowboard learing area this week to start on rails next weekend.

Upper sidewinder is looking SICK, it should be open tomorrow!

the pipe is dope! i cant believe the changes that blue has made, the only thing that is bad is the retards who ski through the park and have no idea whats going on.
