A word of advice: Hang out on ns.com enough and you'll find about as many different opinions on bindings as you will members.

I ride Tyrolia, and in my 2.5 years of teching at one of the biggest ski shops (Sporting Life:( ) in Toronto, I haven't really had a problem with any of the following:

Tyrolia, Salomon, Marker, Look/Rossi

The following binding blows(my opinion only): Atomic(all models. I don't care what you tell me, you can't convince me they don't.)

The Line binding is too new and has what I would call a deserved bad reputation on newschoolers. Give it a year or two, and it stands a good chance of being an excellent choice. Oh and hopefully, more companies will have adopted the Line insert pattern in a year or two(wishful thinking??), making the Line binding an even more attractive option. Overall, I'd say that most any binding will keep you in when it should, and release properly. Assuming it's properly installed and adjusted, of course. Which is why a good shop is so important. For what it's worth, Salomon's warranty has always seemed pretty good to me, so that might be your deciding factor right there. Ask your shop guys, and they'll give you the info you need to make a smart decision on which binding is best for you.

Ive skied looks, salomons and markers before, and the only one Id recommend would be the look. The markers always pre-released and what not, the salomons always pre-released, post-released, just fucking always released at the worst times (s-810). The breaks on the salis also broke almost every time I landed backwards, or released even with the din cranked almost to the max, constantly came loose and now theyre being warrentied because the wings got fucked up or something.

I love my looks however, they never come off when I dont want them to, even after a harsh fall (that doesnt warrent my skis popping off). I hated climbing back up the landing looking like an ass because my skis came off when they probably shouldnt. They have come off when it was necessary however. Im just really satisfied with them since Ive had such bad experiences in the past, and now Ive got something solid that I can RELY on.

i am planning to just get my old markers re mounted on my new skis, does it really matter what kind of markers i got?

dont buy line...they suck

I have a big dent in the front of my Pathfinder, but I leave it there because im a hard ass who hits shit and I just want people to see that.

Big Willy, unless you weigh less than 100 pounds than you should never have had S810's. That is way to cheap/small a binding for anyone who hits jumps. As for Salomons, they all have a 5 year warranty which is really good, i broke mine this winter and i had new, next year bindings in less than 3 weeks. I dont know about the waranty on Looks/Rossi but i have not ever heard of them braking.

yeh Look/Rossi for sure... you may be able to get the look for less because of the brand name (tip: they are the same thing)Tyrolia and Marker work too... try to get half ass race bindings they are better built and they will last you longer
