essentially how it works is a coil is epoxied into the binding holes and acts as a thread for the binding screws to screw into. this allows the mount to work like a snowboard mount for the most part, and for the most part, will help prevent binding blowouts.
doing it yourself would require increasing the size of the mount holes, getting a hold of the right radius/thread count coil, and properly gluing it into the thread. id bring it to a shop, its a good amount of work that requires some precision to be effective.
