Big Sky's Park

well tall tees i cant handle, but how long of a box are you talking....?

Also from what im told the jump line where the pipe used to be should be a go weather dependent. Opening day park looks like it will be pretty fun.

Maybe a 20 footer that's about a foot wide. Can't really beat that for intermediate progression. Just some more trickable features would be cool. Down rails are a blast but we can only do so many tricks on them ya know?

and a longish flat round bar

up rail like the old pvc cannon circa 2009

the old urban-on flat rails were fun as shit.

up-flat-up, or flat-up-flat (halfway through the season you could flip them around to be DFDs or FDFs)

there will be a flat box opening day about 16 feet 16in wide, so that close

and im new to big skys park program so ill have to take a gander throught the rail yard and see about flat downs, id also like to have a good up rail/ shotgun box goin

awesome!

and i don't think anyone cares what the park is like as long as it changes. that's the one thing that has been kinda hurtin in the past. so if you just switch up a feature or so every week i think you will hear very few complaints.

The up box towards the end of last year in 2.0 was really fun. That looooong up/hip rail in swifty after the big dfd was also awesome, though it would be great if we could move it so the end wasnt where everyone hung out to hit the jump line. that was annoying.

and please rebuild the hip this year. that thing was awesome.

but yeah a good flat rail would be awesome. and a long flat box. maybe a down flat box? like mellow, the down flat rails kink is pretty harsh.

and set up the c box so skiers can hit it properly, that was the dumbest set up feature ever last year.

Ive always thought it would be sick if they would make a butterbox cheesewedge. That wouldn't take too much snow and it would be super easy to get creative on it.

moving the jump line back to ramcharger would be incredible. the swifty park really limited its potential in terms in speed, jump size, and likelihood of decapitation via chairlift.

Lol swifty will still be under swifty. its called that because of the lift its under.

Btut yeah sounds like jump line on ramcharger could potentially be happening again.

So we will for sure have the 3 jump line where it was in your park last year and then possibly building a slightly bigger line on ambush IN the actuall pipe. and yes you do have a new park director named miah and i have just moved here from colorado and will be the new park builder.

will you be making snow for the ambush jump line or will jumps be pushed when theres enough snow?

p.s. stoked to see you around in the forums. Theres a fair amount of bitching that goes around here so take it all with a grain of salt, but sometimes there's some good ideas

there will be snow made, but remember that the jumps on ambush have not been 100% aproved so im not promising anything.

But ya its been a long time since ive been on newschoolers, i wont do that much of the design i just wanted to see what you guys say about it. the new park director seems like he wants to change alot in the park this year so we will see.

So is anyone still left from the old park crew? Ill be super bummed if they are all gone.

Dont know if any of you guys were around, but Miah is running the park this year. He was in London all last year and now that every has left, he's assumed Tyrel's role. Dan is the only one returning from last years crew.

I'm stoked to see what Miah comes up with though. He's a boss

I meant to say if you guys remember Miah, since he was here a couple years ago and some people posting on here are new.

I think I met him. He was around in the 08/09 season right? Bummed the rest of those guys are gone now, they were all nice dudes.

i'm pumped on the news of a potential park on andesite, do you know if it does go down if it'd just be jumps or would they have jibs as well? ramcharger would be a sweet lift for it since it's only like a 6 min ride, hot laps all day. and more rebuilds would be awesome, i liked the features last season, but it was just about exactly the same all year.

imo big sky would have the sickest park if they just took over southern comfort. dedicated park lift. not too steep or mellow, room for a big jump line and lots of jibs, plus its always sunny over there

agreed agreed agreed agreed agreed agreed agreed.

It's kinda out of the way tho, and I like being able to hit a sheddy lap and then a park lap

I would very much like some kind of decent sized jump(s). PLEASE just something you could do a 9 on without having to huck your duck

The park on SOCO will never happen because its a convergence point for Big Sky, Yellowstone Club, and Spanish Peaks. There would be no end to the bitching, if the park moved over there. All those young trouble making saggy pant, dress wearing jibbly jabblies that ski too fast and backwards.

Plus, its more difficult for ski patrol to deal with.

In my humble opinion, the park needs to stay near the base area, but it needs to be closed with a park pass system, and it needs to not be under swifty.

But again, the park pass would make it 1000% better.

Im actually taking a ski area law class right now and we just had a topic about how these park pass programs are actually bringing up lawsuites. By someone taking a 20 min class and getting a card saying they are now safe to go ride the park is bringing up issues because you are telling someone that they can hit any feature in the park thus creating lawsuites when ppl get hurr on a feature they where not prepared to hit.

Not true. The safety material stresses progression and starting slow/small a ton. It also forces you to sign a waiver that includes a notice that goes something like:

I take responsibility for my actions blah blah blah. I will only attempt tricks and features I am capable of. The trails are marked with small medium, large feature signs that I am familiar with, and understand that I can get hurt., and that larger features inherit a greater risk of injury.

If someone goes straight for the 60ft. booter, that is their fault. People who have the balls to hit big jumps usually know what they are doing.

no bueno at all. Plus an extra trash can would only be like 10 bucks (or potentially free if you just grabbed a different one)

Also any park crew folk want to divulge what the opening setup is gonna look like? And where its gonna be? Im assuming swifty 2.0 again.

^ building in progress.... looks like there should be between 10-13 features but you will have to wait to see what it will be (you know you want it to be a suprise)

Looks rad. I like that you have the mellow line all the way to the right. Setting up the flat lift tower as a spine thing looks rad too.

i knew having miah running the park this year things would be better, but damn, 2.0 looks legit and funtastikal for an opening day. good work
