ive found that during the fall, warren miller movies are the best at making you want to go skiing. i dont know why, they just kick ass
 
im sorry but that was the gayest comment ever^ last fall not only did i waste 8 dollars and over an hour of my time. that shit made me embarrassed to be a skier.
 
hahaha, yeah. I used to go to them every year, but eh, they get old. maybe its just the crowd that goes, they laugh when a skier crosses their skis or slides a rail.

But they DO have kick ass figure 8 segments usually.

But yes, this competition sounds pretty fun. Wish there was more info on the site, I'd love to do it.

Sean, I'll be down for presidents day weekend, I'll be at crystal hopefully friday and saturday, cuz i need to pick up some more free tickets to baker, and it takes em 2 days to do, so I probably wont have time to get up to snoqualmie, you guys are more then welcome to ski at crystal with me though

I will check on the big mountain comp though for yall. There, I brought it back into the topic.
 
too bad its not a real big mtn comp i was stoked when i read the topic of the post and was thinking that i might actually go to crystal but NEVERMIND! and yeah the washington forum is just one but IM
 
what do you mean not a real big mtn comp? How much more could it be?

You hike to the top of silver king, and try and get down using the hardest route... sounds like big mtn to me.

how tall? I'm 5'5" (and thats a very optimistic value) but I have no stamina, I hike a rail twice and I'm spent.
 
Yeah, I'm not even sure if they hike that much, its like a 5 minute hike, and then you traverse the rest of the way. I'm not sure where the starting point is.
 
i didnt go to the one last year, nor have i seen it, so i cant comment on that. but some of his previous videos are good, the cinimetography is sick.
 
cults are pointless, and me and andy are small mountain skiers anyways (boarder in his case) so we do not apply.
 
yeah it's pretty steep, i've actually only done it once, I always get too lazy and just drop in lower.

the traverse from cambell to the gate is a bitch.. i really wish they had a way to smooth it out
 
oh yeah, and bein small really is kick ass.. you see all the best wakeboarders? they aren't over 5'6"

I'm inheritly a bad wakeboarder.

Course then there is guys like bret V... whats he, like 6'3"?

well i was going to do it untill i found out its like a $200 entry fee, but i guess most big mtn comps are like that.

it would still be fun though

Fuck the $200 entry fee, but thats what you get with crystal. Check it out, they have a clinic for big mountian, only $495! (includes continental breakfast though...)

Seriously though, crystal is epic, im considering getting a pass there next year.
