Better than Tanner

they are all influential and really good. gagnier is by no means way better then tanner. if you mean by working more on big spins then maybe, but tanner is still more well rounded and dont even bring up the argument about charles stomping chads on park twins because thats just one jump. t hall has really rounded himself off with park,urban,bc jumps,pipe, and i hear hes dabbling in REAL bc skiing. now im not saying gagnier is not sick, because he is really good but hall has been way mroe influential to the world of skiing and showmanship is what caused him to be so influential which isnt a bad thing at all. candide, jon, dumont and others are not even similar to each other besides the fact they are the biggest names in skiing. every single one of them are still the ones who influence everything in skiing. schiller is SICK and he might be on the same level park wise but i havent seen him bust anything crazy on urban or in the bc. im not bashing him either. just remember your roots kids, without these guys you may call 'sell outs', the level of skiing which attracts you every year to videos,comps and magazines would not be the same.

TJ has the moves/skill to beat tanner in any comp he is in. He just needs to use the spin to win factor. But tanner has been new school's king for a long time. He has mastered all the moves he has. But the scene is changing....skiers that were there since the begining ( Tanner,CR, thovex,Vinny D, JP) are making way for the new generation of skiers ( Sammy,TJ, Matt Walker, Ian Cosco). It is not that anybody is better then anybody else, it is just the way we are rippin is changing.
 
i agree. candide is #1 in rails, #1 in style cuz its so unique, and easily top 3 in pipe (flair, need i say more?) The only thing we havent seen from him is BC!
 
i think some are better at certain things than tanner, but overall tanner is pretty hard to beat. i think candide is way overrated though. his skiing is good, but his style sucks, i dont wanna watch that shit.
 
yeah candide flails so much and can barely tweak his grabs plus he is a pussy when it comes to going big

guess charles just got left out of basically every reply.....he just cant make the cut in skiing eh? haha.
 
tanner owns almost every aspects of the sport: backcountry, big air, urban and pipe. My only option is candide how has nuts to hit almost everithing, he does some sick tricks like cork 650 in but does own the pipe from what i know or the urban, but i think that compare to the other pros he's near Tanner, maybe in a couple of years
 
finally one that has he same opinion as me! Schiller killed with his switch 1440 but does have a SO MUCH big bag of rick than that compared to other skiers..
 
i will probably get flmed for this, but if you look at actually technique Tanner is not that good of a skier. People like Sage, Hugo, and Seth have perfect turns and link them very nice, they are also crazy as hell. Tanner might win all these comps and shit but those skiers just have an extra something about them that appeals more to me.
 
TJ is the man for a big air, he hucks big spins with big grabs

Dumont is for pipe, amplitude and grabs

Candide is a crazy frenchie with his own steeze, like TJ but Euro and crazier, he hits crazy junps and jibs

Tanner is the best skier of all these because he is the onyl one with all qualities, he also has some BC skills and slays urban
 
Tanner isn't the best at anything in particular. He's simply the best. He's one of the best at everything and that makes him the best. Now there are lots of skiiers with lots of potential but the way I see it Tanner is still the best skiier in the world right now.

dumont wallisch and all those guys are amazing in the park but tanner was/is just as good as them in his own right but was way more versatile he skied as much pow and back coutry as he did groomers and park

well the thread had already been bumped , and when I saw that i didnt see the date , so i called the ban.
 
cause it's a valid thread plus I wanted to see how long it would take for the mods to bring down the picture...and wow are they losing.
 
Tanner, imo is not know only for his skiing (even if its one of the best no doubts) , but also his charismatic*, fun personnality, he just loons like a guy it would be ill to ski with, hes always complimenting, and mot in a fake way, he just looks likea nice guy. For the Q i wood say candide is the only one that could somewhat standup to hall.
