Best Workout and Diet Plan

Hello ns, I've decided my summer goal is to loose weight. I would like to know if any of you have a very good workout plan and diet schedule to follow. Help would be appreciated, Thanks!

i actually havent drank any pop in about a couple months, But i ended up just drinking alot of vitamin water which is about the same. Im going on all water now.

I'm on the life health plan.....

No soda, juice, or any product where sugar or fake sugar is an ingredient (exception being nutella and jam...)

No wheat products aside from sprouted grain bread (exception being tortillas)

Pasta has been replaced with quinoa and there is actually some awesome pasta made out of quinoa.

Replace white rice with brown rice, lettuce with spinach.

Otherwise I eat pretty much everything else. I'll happily eat bread/pasta/desserts when I go out to eat, but in my home it's a no go.

Then I do a variety of push/pull strength stuff at home and try to do things like wall sits when I'm on the phone or whatever. cardio gets left for things like hiking, swimming and what not.

Just changing up your diet a bit will make a MASSIVE impact.

^^good stuff there.

Here is a link for a program that I like on bodybuilding.com. There are video tutorials about the exercises and tips for dieting. It gives you specific recipes if you want, but I haven't tried them at all. The exercises are easy to do if you have a basic gym available. It is a good plan for people starting out.

Pick a program that is easy to get started and that isn't too intense. If you start something with too much enthusiasm and work out super hard at first, you will get burned out and eventually quit. Start relatively slow with whatever you do and build momentum.

Smaller portions make a huge difference. I'm not saying you have to eat next to nothing, but just less.

Especially watch yourself at restaurants. You can easily down an entire days worth in one sitting at a restaurant.

Well depends what you wanna do. But if you want to grow and get shredded.

- deadlift, squat, benchpress, and do cleans

- rice, skinless chicken breast, asparagus, tuna, halibut, almond butter.

It's really way more complex than that, but you pose such a huge question. I'd say read read read and utilize google.

For supps - creatine, protein, bcaa, glutamine, CLA, multi vitamin.

Eat whatever you want, just only eat half of what you normally would. Losing weight is simply burning more calories than you consume.

This is true, but having the will power to stop eating all the shit you want is where that will go wrong. Portion control is the best thing you can possibly do, but if you're cutting portions, why not eat healthier? You'll have so much more energy to burn off the calories you take in if you eat healthy, nutritious food.

You really don't need to go Hitler on your diet to lose weight. Avoid processed foods, drink water, visit your local co-op for more fruits and veggies. Other than that, exercise; find a weekly routine that you can follow easily with your personal schedule and the rest is results.

I am no diet expert, but wouldn't eating less than you normally do promote losing weight? I understand that eating half as many twinkies as before still may not be a great thing, but it's a step in the right direction. I understand what I said may be misleading, but the point I was really trying to make is that one does not have to go on some insane dieting plan to shed a couple pounds.

it might, or it might not. i have no idea what his diet consists of. diet is by far the most important factor in achieving physique changes....up or down. i'd say it's far more important to eat healthy "normal" amounts of food than to eat like shit....but in a smaller quantity.

i think a lot of people are under the misconception that they have to starve themselves to lose weight when that's not the case at all. most people just need to cut a lot of "shit" food out of their diet and replace it with healthier alternatives.

Eat healthier foods, cut calories, and do cardio. Lifting is good too, but if you really just want to shed some pounds, eat less and run more.

this, they key is zero "bad starches" (white rice, potatoes, corn, any bread except sprouted) and zero sugar. that means no juice either unless its "juiced" juice. quinioa is fucking awesome, just make tons of it. you can mix it with anything, has tons of protein, is cheap, and is easier to make than rice.

do some research on eating paleo or caveman, that's the approach that you should take. I've always been a super active healthy guy, never been even close to overweight. But i've been eating paleo since last august as a lifestyle choice and I've lost an insane amount of body fat that i never knew i had.

again, don't go extreme, pizza, beer or whatever is fine a day or so a week. if you do drink, try and stick to vodka soda or gin sodas.

just cut out filler crap. no crackers, bread, canned foods, frozen boxed foods, all that shit that you eat for a snack when you're hungry but too lazy to make anything good (like a salad).

that will go a long way.

Pull-ups, push-ups, 6 ab exercises, a ton of water, and running 2 miles every other day. Also I stopped smoking weed and don't drink nearly as much. And my dad eats really healthy so Im done eating shit food. Starting to feel really good.

eat less work out more.

replace highly processed foods with basic foods like produce, meat, milk and whole grain bread.

and by working out I don't mean just running and going to the gym (although these work just as well) but find something you enjoy. be it biking or hiking or something active. if you like running or going to the gym then that works.

move a lot, dont sit. seriously ive noticed that on this camping/lake trip i go on for like 10 days once or twice every summer, i by far eat the most absolute crap and huge amounts of it, but i loose quite a bit of weight for just 10 days. while at home i eat pretty damn healthy workout probably once a day on average but maintain my weight.

the difference is that rather than 1 hour worth of physical activity/working out and eating super healthy, on the camping trips im up at like 8, go to bed at like 11 and in those 15 hours im awake, i probably spend like 3-4 at most sitting. the rest of the time im walking, swimming, standing, doing something active (climbing wakeboarding etc..) and even if im sitting, im doing something. and i just eat pounds of straight candy/bread/ and crap, and lose weight.

anyway, i know its hard to stay that active all day, but my point is, rather than sitting all day and doing 1 hour of hard, intense workout, spread it out. i went from my workout being about an hour, but pretty damn intense for that hour, to a 10-15 minute run/bike ride, jumping jacks, whatever kind of cardio i can do in the morning, another if i can in the middle of the day, and one at the end of the day for maybe like 30 minutes, and it makes a big difference, definitely made me a lot leaner and just feel more "loose" and good feeling.

and find fun things to do, luckily i enjoy running, so its easy for me to do it, but i also can spend hours and hours mtn biking or just biking around town after work or on weekends and cant get enough.

diet wise, drink lots of water, green tea/tea in general in place of juice/soda, dont be afraid of big fatty meat products, steak and beef for me at least works better chicken/fish, probably partly because its so damn satisfying. and in general im just a lot less hungry when i have some kind of beef every day. i like to eat tons of fruit too, but some people dont do too well with fruit, so find what works for you. eat breakfast but not a huge one, its easy to eat like 1000 calories for breakfast and have to starve yourself the rest of the day to make up for it. avoid sugar, though i like sugar for when im doing physical activity so long as its in fruit form or a GOOD energy drink/gel/energy gummy block thing.

You say that as though a website full of skiers don't know how to stay in shape.

Keep it simple - people focus too much on the minutiae and forget the big picture.

Do Starting Strengthhttp://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:The_Program#The_Original_Starting_Strength_Novice_Program

Eat more protein (at every meal) and less carbs. If you're the type that needs numbers, shoot to eat about 1g/day per lb you weigh of protein and shoot for weight * 10 in daily calories (e.g. you weight 180, eat 1800).

Do cardio if you enjoy it.

supplements can be expensive, but if you want the best results, you get them quicker.

stay off creatine, the pros dont outweigh the cons.

go buy a cheap jump rope, and a nice pair of running shoes. its not hard work to look good, you just have to make it a habit. if you have any questions message me i am 5'11" 184 Lbs, 6% Body fat.

the best thing for diet, whether you like it or not, cutting alcohol out of your diet is the best

simple fact of the matter, to loose fat you need to consume less calories than you burn. Try an app to measure your caloric intake (MyFitnessPal is a great one in my experience), Ideally you can also balance your macros and ensure you're getting all the nutrients you need, this will help keep you from getting hungry since the foods you eat will be nutritious rather than empty calories.

Other tips from my recent forre into this:

- Cardio 3 times a week (more is better)

- If you are using whey powders make sure not to buy mass gainer, I recommend an isolate.

- Eat more meals (I had 5 ~350 cal meals a day during my best period of fat loss)

- look at your waist more and the scale less, as you do more working out you will gain muscle as well as loosing fat, this will translate to a lower number on the scale, however your fat loss may not be accurately reflected in that number of pounds lost.

- Dont drink your calories. Water is your friend, drink 2 glasses before you eat, this will help keep you hydrated as well as helping maintain portion control.

- USE CHEAT MEALS. If you stop eating all your favourite foods for 6 months eventually you will crack and binge on the foods you crave, instead plan for a cheat meal each week where you can eat the foods you crave, just remember to use portion control when you do this.

If you have other questions I am happy to help, I went from a snug 38 to a roomy 32 in 5 months with a plan similar to this, so I know it will work if you keep at it.

good info here however meal frequency does not matter. There is no scientific studies that prove that eating several small meals throughout the day boosts your metabolism. What can boos your metabolism is timing and strategy. Intermittent Fasting and carb cycling are what come to mind.
