Edge 3

Now i have some ideas:

1. Let them brake off

2. Brake them off so it doesnt take out more edge

3. Drip ptex into the crack to stablize it

What should I do? I kinda wanna make these last the rest of the year.

wow howd you manage that one yeah you might want to pound them back in and use a little ptex

Actually im not, i went thought this exact stage with my 1080s, but i didnt touch em so they just broke alot more edge off.

Year of jibbing does alot. And are u kidding me, pound them in? that dont work, you dont know shit.

epoxy, hammer and a torch?

your local ski tech might be able to help you too.

well actually lets not. if you just look, i bet you can find soem good sticks. i bought last years scratches brand new with brand new rossi bindings on them for 290.

i have a friend that broke an edge on his skogens and he welded them back together by brazing. i think he also used some sort of flexible epoxy, the kind that auto body shops use to fix bumpers or that sort of thing.

My friend has something like that, and he just let it rip off. Then he covered it with epoxy, and he skis good on them.

they will rip out in due time if you ski hard. they dont have teeth. my edge on my ar5s looked like that, and now im missing like 120+ inches of edge

You can either spend a bunch of money getting it fixed at a shop, or you can find somebody willing to teach you how to fix them. I'd recommend learning how to fix your own edges, that's a skill that will be useful in the long run. Or you can always just quit messing up your skis.

Take them to a shop! They'll cut off the bad edges, fix your base (best they can) and cut new edges and epoxy them on. Then.. those will rip off and you will realize that your skis might last the rest of the year so start saving for next year.

you could try to do it yourself but i wouldn't reccomend it. Your local shop dudes will do it for you for very little if you kiss their asses and tell them you'd like to continue buying gear from them if they are willing to help u out a bit.

^^ haha, even thought t-hall skis 4 them doesn't me there immortal.

ne way epoxy and a clamp that's what i'd do, it's going to open up again neway

ok, use a thin nail file, sand the inside of that crack and try to clean it out best you can, then clean it with rubbing alchohol or acetone, then put some 2 part epoxy in there and clamp the base down with a block of wood and some c clamps.

if that doesnt hold up, cut the edge out and replace it.

hardware store, ask for 2 part epoxy its like 4-6 dollars, and no ptex will not work, epoxy will bond and hold, ptex will just gum it up and do nothing.

You obviously didnt read any of the thread, IT IS DRAGING, hence why i wanna fix it.

I have the same issue with my chonics, which self destructed a 2" section into about 6 different pieces on one edge. I just filed all the corners out, and it seemed to fix the problems.

couple options.

option 1: like previously stated. clean the area above the edge out, and shoot some epoxy in there. clamp them. if your base is peeled up, which i assume it is, either epoxy it down too, or cut it out, and epoxy/weld up the hole in the base.

option 2. cut the section of edge out. file the front and back of the intact edges so they blend up into the ski. epoxy anything exposed. this is what i would personally do, as usually things just re break.

and FYI: ptex s not a means of fixing ANYTHING on skis except ptext. it does not stick to anything else. if your skis are coreshot and you try to ptex um, itll peel out.

Dude just take it to a shop. Don't you know some people at your shop that will help you out and do it for a 6 pack or something?

And...from what I understand...you are going to need to remove the edge and put new edge in, and then ptex weld that shit back in place.

I could care less if the core shot is visbale or not, it needed to be fixed, i had no clear.
