Best skiing mag?

I personally like Powder magazine, i like freeskier, but i like to know about stuff outside of the freeskiing world as well, while almost everything is starting to center around freeride in the movies and mags, i still find that Powder has articles i'm entertained reading, also i find that i like the ski reviews in Powder.

Skeeze is up there as well too! I love that its a quality magazine for free. And I've always followed the K2 Factory Team since I was a youngin so its cool to kind of get a better glimpse of there seasons with the k2 flavor.

wtf. i can't believe you haven't mentioned the ONLY good ski magazine.

SBC Skier - hello.

Powder I think is the overall best skiing mag right now. It tends to focus more on the backcountry and bigmountain but will still have park and urban based articals every so often, It also has the best photos hands down. Those factors along with the fact that the articals are fun to read and give diferent perspectives to the sport make it my favorite right now. One of the few downsides though is that the buyers guide is really just a bunch of photos with the manufactures discription. However the monthly gear reviews are top notch.

Freeskier also has great photography. However it tends to focus more on the freeskiing side of things then the freeride for obvious reasons. This trend continues through into the articals, which good and tend to have some humor in them. Another nice thing about freeskier is the little pieces that arn't really articals but are still fun to read non the less. And the monthly gear girl is allways nice. The best thing about freeskier however, (in my opinion) is the yearly buyers guide which is the best on the market for freeskiers and freeriders.

Skiing. It is good at best. The photos tend to be laking compared to the other magazines. This mag is more structured like a traditional magazine with little articals throughout. The writing in the longer pieces sucks compared to Powder though. Nice things include the trick tips in the back and the sugested workouts to get you in shape for skiing. Buyers guide is good but centered away from freeskiers. Suposably they had a seperate buyersguide for park skis but I never got it.

SBC Skier. I have only seen a few copies of this mag but what I have seen I have liked. The photos were up to par, if not as good as the ones in Powder. The writers seem to have the best writing skill out of all the other magazines (which is not saying something). I can not say much on the different features it has since I only have one from each year. This Mag is definatly Canadian and you can tell.

Skeeze- It's free, it's good and it's free. this magazine put out by K2 follows the K2 factory team with intreasting looks into the trips they take and the amazing photos that come out. You wont find much about stuff outside of the K2 team, but when you realize that the best skiers are on the K2 team (Seth, Pep, Andy, Chris B, and that guy who killed the compititions this year, not to mention Michell Parker; you find out that their is plenty of content avalible. Having the best skiers on the team means that the people taking the photos of the skiers will be the best photographers in the world. And since it focus's on on the K2 team you can expect a nice long piece about the movie Idea. Another nice thing is the spoof adds that make fun of other companies; they really are funny. The only bad thing is that it only comes out once a year. However it has one of the highest production values of any single issue so it's worth getting especialy since it is free.

Like someone said before, how do you get Skeeze?

But the guy with the really long descriptions is completely dead on.

I don't like Freeskier. And my judgment is based on a comparison with different magazines. Like Trasher, Be-Mag, Snowboarder and more...

powder has really good articles and lots of the bigmountain/BC stuff

and Skier covers everything with canadian humor

Was it time warner? I thought it was the dudes of trans-world (skate, snow, boggle, etc) going "lol, burton" on their skier affiliate. Or does time warner own transworld?

Write the other way is by far the best I've seen. Although its an online mag, its still sick because it like 10 times more content than other mags. Pictures get old. I like to read about shit and see other peoples experiences in life. The Evan Raps interview is really interesting.

What we really need is a skiing mag exactly like Transworld Skateboarding but focused on skiing. That mag is the shit.

Freeze used to be the shit though, it was just getting really good when transworld was printing too, it was nice and thick, but they pussed out apparently :(

1. FREEZE (forever in our hearts, RIP)

2. Freeskier

3. Powder

4. SBC Skier (ties with powder)

5. Skiing

etc. etc. etc.

1,000,000. Ski Racing

i dont wanna sound stupid here and correct me if im wrong but i think the actualy picture quality in freeskier (im talking pixels and such) is better than powder. Powder always seems a tad distorted to me...

Powder because it has better pictures and the articles cover more aspects of skiing, and are well written. Not to mention the INCREDIBLE quality of paper they have lol.

SBC Skier is great for it's articles and it's humor.

What I like about Freeskier is all the connection with the freeskiing industry they have (Harvey articles on Oakley trips, etc...)
