Best ipod

are the old ipod minis flash? if they are that would probably be the best pretty much indestructible and no moving parts

i skid with a mini and the thing is unbreakable. only thing is the battery sucks and if you dont have a warrenty on it its expensive.

when i had my mini, the battery would freeze up and lose all its life in about 5 minutes if it was -5 or colder which sucked. now i have a shuffle and love it, its industructable, light and cheap. all i put on it is my ski playlist so it holds enough for me. also if it falls out of your pocket, its so light it stays attatched to your headphones so its pretty much impossible to lose it.

im gonna get a mini for skiing even though i have like 1700 songs and i get like 20 more everyday i still think it would be better then a video cause its indestructable

yeah a shuffle would be sweet for skiing. especially if you could attach a remote to it somehow and control it externally while leaving it nice and warm inside your coat.

i have a 30 gig black video with my name engraved on it. i like it. sometimes it acts funny and freezes or just turns off/on until the battery dies, but that is a rarity. i'm coming to a point where i need more space though. :(

for those of your who have cold ipods that stop playing music when you ski; put it in an inside layer pocket so your body temp keeps it warm! i do that in the really cold months and my shit works all the time. additionally, when i grab for it to change the music i'm not holding onto something that's -15 degrees and still playing music (amazing in my eyes).

my suggestion is get an ipod that hold enough music for you.

oh yeah and i'd also say the best one is the ipod classic, 80gb, 40 hours audio battery life and 7 hours video life. plus its all metal and costs the same as the old 30gb ipods. the nano is useless for video and the battery life isnt as good as the video. the only thing is that its smaller, but the screen is so big that its just as easy to break as a bigger ipod.

do they make a 2 gb shuffle now? 1 gb should be plenty, you're not gonna listen to every single song in one day.

meh, i rode with my video all season(75+days) and i didnt have any problems...guess i might just have a lucky one...i think the key is to not fall on it though...

I have a video ipod and it stalls and freezes sometimes when I ski or when I use it alot. Not sure why it does this I am thinking or warranting it.

word i skied with my video all year (40 days) and i fell on it, cold east coast temps, and its perfectly fine. although every once and a while id have to go in the lodge to get it warm cause it would die....but mostly really reliable surprisingly.
