I've only had their barleywine, since its the only one I've seem distributed in the lower 48. how are their other beers?

So good! Bar Fly, Panty Peeler (my favorite of theirs), Pleasure Town, Sockeye Red, and CoHoHo are all really good. They have others on tap at the brewery (plus amazing food) that are usually delicious if you ever make it up here. Highly recommend!

Definitely miss the VT brews..... but Jackson has some real winners with Roadhouse and Melvin, they’re both expanding distribution, keep an eye out if your in the mountain west for their cans!!

Living in Minneapolis for the summer and I forgot how bitchin the beer scene out here is.

Bells Official is the best "overall" beer. If you think otherwise go drink a whiteclaw

I see Bell's pushing that one a lot but have never really heard much about it, unlike Two Hearted which everyone raves on and on about. Might have to give it a try sometime though.

The local is also possibly the best craft brewery in Japan, pound for pound...

This one is Marihana. As solid of an IPA as they come.

Do you gain a taste for beer never personally liked it. Do you like it over time or just the more you drink the better it tastes

It took time for me. Beer just tasted bad because I was drinking shitty beer like Icehouse, yuck. There are many craft brews that are sooo much better, just takes numerous samples to find the right one for you.

Imagine two-hearted and Oberon had a baby. A nice 6% easy drinker with light hops and some citrus. That's Official. I think it's their best beer and it is a little slept on

That does sound really good actually. Might have to break my New Holland habit next time I buy.

I didnt much care for it at first, but that was because the beers in high school were all rubbish lite beers... once I discovered good beer it was a game changer... Beer went from not being able to taste the difference between brands to a cornucopia of options...

Any good local beers in the J-land?

Never been a huge seltzer guy but ong these ginger-citrus Fulton’s are amazing, probably best seltzer I’ve had ever tbh.

Well, this one certainly.

Theres a growing craft beer culture though there is certainly a much larger craft distilling industry... So so so many good small batch distillers in Japan. Some of the finest whiskeys on the planet.

Curious on people's opinions.

Brewery opened in my hometown. I live beer and supporting small places. That area needs more small businesses.

Anyway was following them on facebook they were posting almost too much about everything. Oh we got new chairs. Or generic beer post shares etc. Was wondering when they would post how the beer was going or their offerings.

Anyway they posted their menu today. They don't have any beers of their own.

I've never heard of this before but are their breweries that don't brew beer? I'm not talking about a brew pub type thing where their production outgrows the place or they open another location to serve food and beer and stuff.

I mean like a place that doesn't brew any beer anywhere and just has kegs from other breweries.

Can you call this a brewery or is this just a bar?

I've been to one or two of these and they are great. The shitty thing about breweries is you are left to only their beer....this way you can support small businesses and local etc...and try all the different beers.

Calling it a brewery however is a lie. It should be called a taproom or brew house or something IMO since they aren't brewing their own. Kinda wack they called it that.

Yeah. The local bars have gotten some solid beers from the region on tap in recent years.

I like these places and supporting it butyeah, brewery seemed like a stretch at best.

Hmmmm, did they open before they’ve had time to produce their own beer? I wouldn’t think that would be a smart move but showcasing other local breweries while you finish setting up/ brewing the first stock wouldn’t be an awful way to drum up attention and business.

I agree though if they only sell others beer it should be called a ‘taproom’ or whatever, you aren’t a brewery if you aren’t brewing your own beers. Or do they do collaborations? Some places in MN send each other ingredients or help each other make a beer and then both sell it under a unified label (eg. “tiki death-sauce” was created by drekker brewing but produced by the brewing projekt- sold in liquor stores under a unified label of the two brands). I know brewery colabs have been more popular these days so maybe they’re shifting towards a more unique approach?

or they’re just a whack ass bar trying to cater to beer heads so they can overcharge for other microbreweries beer?

It sounds more like the last unfortunately. I was wondering why they had all these dumb posts about putting a light outside, some chairs, etc but no pictures of any if the setup for brewing.

Idk. I like to see the small businesses in the hometown do well but if they aren't even plsnning on brewing that's pretty whack imo.

The local ski area started running good craft beers in 2011 or 12. And in a yeat ir teo the other bars started offering good beers. Ine of the restaurants did a remodel and has a big horseshoe bar now and a bunch of taps.

Also in further look they offer pizza logs, pretzels, and mozzarella sticks for food. They have a turbo over or something, no fryer, no grill.

So basically they don't brew beer, and they don't even have decent food. Seems kinda lame honestly.

Sounds like some people saw the business up for sale, rushed to make a good enough looking to charge $$$$ but otherwise shitty bar that doesnt even have a kitchen. Idk the pricing but it seems like probably overpriced beers and pizza logs and pretzels. Sounds sick.

Also the "what's in a name" is interesting because they're name says brewery. People will be cofused, bummed, and possibly pissed.

How cooked does somebody have to be to open a brewery that isn't a brewery.

Was in burlington last weekend visiting some friends, picked up some beer from Foam, that shit is good.

Coors Banquet, Bud, Bud Light, etc. Love me a nice macro tallboy. 3/4 on these Julius Lehrkind Blood Orange Blonde Ale 16 ouncers (highly drinkable) tonight, saving one for the hike tomorrow. Beer while hiking is underrated.

Disco Wolf Hazy Double IPA from Fremont Brewing. Rosauers was selling it at an unreasonable markup, but I found it at this small grocery/convenience store at a regular craft sixer price. I almost wish I didn't. Tastes great and is incredibly smooth at 8.5%. Some of these beers are almost as good as weed, which I'd smoke for more than a week or two every several months if it didn't turn you into such a lazy emotionally unstable degenerate.

People love to shit talk cheap beer...but God damn it's delicious sometimes. Nothing better than having a 12+ hour day in the sun and chucking a bunch of water and cracking a Coors light.

Don't get me wrong. I love craft and always have a sixer in the fridge of something new. But sometimes pisswater is the way to go

Truth!

I do like craft beers but some good old cheap beer is on point.

With the explosion of craft beer I swear half of them are the same.

Was taking a piss in the brush at a trailhead after my hike and found a bunch of litter and I was like fuck that so I started picking it up and found an unopened Cold Snack so I'm currently drinking that.

Just cracked open a Tecate, hoping the Red Sox can pull off the win before Brady torches the Patriots...

Last day of classes likely ever today so went all in on a 4 pack of Fremont Imperial Winter Ale. Great beer, everything I'd expect from a good "winter" kind of beer. I'll now go ahead and criticize Powder Hound Winter Ale from Big Sky Brewing. It's basically a pale ale with a strong taste and it's strange that they advertise it as a "winter" beer. I give it 6/10; any Dopplebock, Hopworks Abominable Winter Ale, or this stuff I just tried is a surer bet if you want a solid winter kind of beer.

Also a slight photo dump of good beers from the past 6 months. Brought a few back from my May trip to Minnesota to drink in Montana back in June and had a beer from Bayern out of Missoula I hadn't tried yet (they're consistently on point, and the Faceplant Doppleweizen was a great fit for November aesthetics and anything but an exception).

Tacate is the shit! Very underrated Mexican beer and I think is better than any of the other mainstream Mexican beers out there.

Also forgot about this bottle I had in my cabinet. Probably about 10yrs old depending when it was bottled in 2012. Still very good.

I noticed the other day that 12 packs of modelo are now 20 dollars, and the 12 packs of PBR have dropped from 20 to 13 as it should be
