Ya, Mad river is still just skiers. I think it's stupid to ban snowboarders, but lemme tell ya, not having little snowboarder kids sitting in the middle of the trail because they can't get off their asses is a very nice thing to have.

those are the kinds of snowboarders i don't mind. the ones that are GOOD and that can carve with their edges rather then pendulum the whole god damn hill and take a break right in the middle when they get tired.

 
you guys are retards, its not like beginner skiiers straight the steeps either. A beginner skiier will scrape off just s much, in the park little skiier kids are just as dumb as little snowboarder kids. I don't even see a difference between the two.

alta's not really setup for boarding anyway, the entire resort is either hiking or traversing, snowboarders would just complain if they "skied" there. Personally I could care less either way, back on the east all I skied with were snowboarders really but snowboarders out here don't really charge shit anyway, I dunno I don't really see a problem with it, if there was a resort that didn't allow skiers I wouldn't cry, I suprised Brighton allows skiers actually

First things first, they shouldn't ban snowboarders from the hill because most of them are cool. They should just increase warnings on the hills.

All parks should adopt the rules in Mt Saint-Sauveur, you need a pass to enter the park, this keeps the skiers who won't hit the jumps from screwing our lines.

Ya you guys just dont understand, how many of you have actually skied at alta? The way alta is set up just would not work for snowboarders, they arent banned still simply because we dont like them. I like snowboarders alot of them rip and I have many friends who are snowboarders but I cant ride with them at alta. Like Ice-is-scary said alta is all about traverses and hikes, stuff you need ski poles on to push yourself across. No one wants snowboarders everywhere on the traverses sitting down in the middle of the run, takign their boards off, then walking across teh traverse. Snowbird allows boarders and one of the spots that is similar terrain to alta(high b aldy traverse) sucks with boarders because I know I could get twice as far on powder days without having to walk if there werent snowboarders sitting on the traverse once they lose momentum.

 
Until you have skied alta youre not allowed to comment on them not allowing snowboarders, read the signs "alta is a skiers mountain"

it seems like most people that hate on snowboarders seem to feel that there is a clear difference between park skiers and other skiers, but people need to realize that to people that don't know about skiing we are all the same, therefore you can't say that "park skiers are better than snowboarders" because there are so many shitty little skiers.

I sure don't miss them at Alta. There are some good snowboarders, but most are slow and fall over unexpectedly. And there's no way they could handle the traverses. The high-T, ballroom, Devil's Castle, hell even Supreme bowl would all be a mess.

It's not the snowboarders that are the problem, it's just that some of them suck so we, as skiers, make the generalization that they're all like that based on the example of a couple dumbasses. You can come up with an endless list of groups of people to ban from the mountain because you don't like them, but once you were done everybody would fit into one of the groups except you. As people said before, snowboarding is banned at certain resorts just to save them some pain and because it's just not practical there. I think the resorts should just keep things the way they are and the dumb little posers will get weeded out by people like me that try to jump over them when they sit on the backsides of jumps.
