Baker 2013-2014

For real, how does Baker not have some type of transport system? Every other mountain, local hill or large resort, I've ever lived at has some type of public transport, even if its not free.

WTA goes everywhere else in NW Washington (and where it doesn't go it links to other transport systems), you'd think they'd have some route to there.

baker bus! if you havent heard of it it's relatively cheap. used to be 5 bucks like 2 years ago. have not taken it in a while tho

Why is that not a bigger deal? Well glad i found that, but my season is pretty much over since i couldn't get a ride last Sunday and didn't get hired, and my skins are fucked. Better just start hiking i guess.

But for next year when i won't have to spend all my saved money moving, ill be sure to get on that bad boy.

My brother and I will be driving down tomorrow from vancouver, anyone want to show us around a bit? I'll be skiing in a black jacket with brightish green pants and hojis. Fell free to say hi!

the backcountry on the elbow off c5 has been unbelievable the past two days...... even the gully to the left of c8 had plenty of snow for some beautiful runs....... should be even better after the storm tonight/tommorow........ weekend will be killer

fair warning avy danger is pretty high and things might be a little warm tomorrow. probably snowing at the upper lot but who knows. it could also be epic. just depends how cold it stays

Fun day up at baker. We really needed this snow. Things are still super bare. Tomorrow should be fun and blue!

I skied until I got soaked on wednesday so I'm stoked to get up there and have it be cold today. I havent gotten the chance to ski any fresh yet so its go'n be good!

Had my hopes up all week for Saturday at baker. Waited all week, checked NOAA every 8 hrs. Me and some buddies even crammed into a hotel in Bellingham and got first chair Sat. Annnnnnnd it wasn't that great. Visibility was 40ish feet all day, super low light. Also, 50+mph winds. But the snow was pretty decent, probably not worth the lift ticket though.

Were you there? Could you give another report on the snow and weather? Just sharing my experience. If it was amazing I would've said so, but it had rained all Friday night instead of snow.

Was at Stevens and wished I was at Baker. Snow was lighter and although busy, less of a clusterfuck. Also, I'm mainly just saying that's how baker is alllathetimes. Seems like a perfect day to me.

Wow, this place is full of a bunch of turds. Now i remember why I haven't been on here in 3 years.

What are conditions like up there recently? Me and a few buddies are planning a trip from Vancouver island next weekend and deciding between baker or maybe stevens. Long-term forecast a few days ago didn't look very hot and I read on "onthesnow" reviews that said the snow anywhere off groomers this week was absolutely awful.

go to stevens. only thing to do is ski groomers and side booters and landings are rock solid. stevens at least has a park

Yesterday was a fuck show. But I went somewhere and got the best pow totally untracked all day. Not tellin

i gotta say...
