Baker 2013-2014

So i don't have a car anymore due to some shit, so im going to take the money i had saved for a season pass and put it towards a new car. I need new skins, but after that is it doable to just skin? Or am I going to be killing myself all year. Ive heard the best thing about Baker is the sidecountry, and if i can get away with skin trips from the upper lot all year id be down.

its not too bad and if youre adventurous you can find really good skiing not even going up to the lot but you have to be willing to walk a long way. sleeping in Winchester lookout in the winter is awesome. but thats not something you can do everyday.

i wont have a pass for the time i am back in town so i will just be doing laps around artist out to lake ann area and up the arm

I don't really know my baker terms, i know where artist point is, is Lake Ann the lake you look down on from the road to artist point? And is the arm the ridge to the point?

arm is the "arm" of shuksan that connects to the top of hemispheres which is directly above chair 8. so when riding 8 everything to lookers left is the arm.

you cant see lake ann from artist point but you pretty much skin out the basin past artist point and up towards the back side of the arm

ok i can picture that. When i was hiking around i noticed that Baker the ski area looked like some lifts thrown up a knob, not really a mountain, While the terrain around it looked a lot more fun. Maybe I'm wrong, but are there a bunch of shortish sidecountry runs with short/medium skins?

What i dont want to do is be stuck having to skin 2 hours to get anywhere worth skiing. And along the road up to artist point i noticed what looked like they would be pillow lines and drops most of the way up. Am i right on this, or what.

I really just need a local guide.

you can get runs within 45 minutes from the lot but they would get old pretty quick. to get the real sidecountry stuff people talk about you need to take the lifts to get up and then just traverse or boot pack a bit.

you can get epic terrain within 2 hours skinning that is better than anything in bounds/slack country but you need to know where youre going and a lot of that is secret;) until you find it.

And leave my incorrigable wives unattended? Who will impregnate my daughters if I'm gone? Who will howl down the red nosed imbibers with morose glee? Everyone knows accounting is more fun than skiing anyway.

I'll prob be shredding baker tomorrow. Was thinkin stevens pass for park but my sis is driving and paying for my ticket so im not gonna bitch, haha.

Be garbed in red/white/black, either a hoodie or jacket. Armadas or 9thwards.

Its supposed to absolutely dump Sunday and Sunday night. NWAC 30 inches at 5100' which calibrates to 10 actual inches but is still enough to get really excited

i will be up monday most likely with the pooch doing some light touring/filming. excited to get up there for the first time this year.

ive been doing that for months, Tuesday was going to be my first day of the year on a chairlift, but i guess ill just fap all day instead.

Yesterday was epic. Still recovering from an injury so I couldn't do a ton but I got in some good turns. 23 degrees up top with about 13inches of snow. Awesome day

i just took made some laps down austin. i knew swift would be awesome all that fluffy stuff seems to always pile up well in there.

man fuck dat,

yesterday - just find a ride today, the bus will be running tomorrow - my manager

today - the bus is for full time employees and never instuctors - the same manager

thanks baker!

how am i supposed to know that? When i asked the first day he told me about the shuttle and where to get on, and the next day he says i can never use it. Why not just tell me that from the beginning.
