Back pain from trampoline?

I'm a fit and athletic 31 year old man. Last week, I went trampolining for the first time in years, and did a vigorous 1-hour session, and everything was fine. Five days later, I went again, and after 15 minutes, the pain in my mid-back region was so severe, I had to stop jumping. I couldn't tell if it was muscular pain, skeletal pain, or something wrong with one of my internal organs.

That was 3 days ago, and I'm still hurting, but not as much. I would so SO RELIEVED to learn that this is normal. I think my gluts are not very well developed, so that could be the explanation for it.

The thing is, it doesn't really feel the way sore muscles feel. It is just a profound, unfamiliar ache. I can't even run right now without a good bit of pain.

Thanks for any info you may have!

glad to know it's not just me! I jump all the time in the summer (and i have been since i was about 6) but only recently has my back been sore. I go to a club too and last week i had to take a break and just lie on the floor for a while. Didn't help much, i just had to tough it out a bit. But i'll definitely start doing some stretches to see if that helps.

Warm up before, stretch after. Also, sounds like your erector muscles in your back are underdeveloped. Try doing back extensions (reverse crunches) and super man's ( lay on your stomach and lift your arms and legs off the ground, try to hold for 20 seconds and work up from there).

TeeHee - Did he say erectors

yeah I was having crazy back pains recently.

One of the resons I think was when i eat before a jump it hurts but when I dont I can jump for ages

Yeah my lower back hurts sometimes after tramping. Just trampoline more and stretch before and after.

i used to get it a fair bit when i was younger. The stretch that always worked best for me was to stand in a door frame and grab on to either side and lean back. Move your hands up or down to adjust where in your back you're stretching

I got three compressed discs in my lower back and two in my neck from my trampoline it fuckin sucks. Just take some time off from the tramp and strengthen your back.

This thread is so old haha. I've had this problem too though. After I jumped for a couple hours one day my back was in so much pain. I would have my girlfriend walk on my back and it would crack like crazy then I'd have her do it again an hour later and it would crack just as much as the first time so fucked up

From ramping and tramping the last three summers 5 days a week these back pains slowly built up and up until i had to begin seeing a therapist but until a friend of my coaches an up coming arielist showed my that even if you do all the strecthes without back strength the pain will stay

spark notes: do excersises that strengthen the back and inner band of ab muscles

Every get a headache from trampin? last summer i was practicing dub flats and just landing on my side, and after that my head started to hurt whenever i bounced, sorta sucks, now its sortof not worth it to tramp for me, the headache just isnt worth it, but i dunno

I tramped every day last summer, then during football season broke my back. The doctors basically said the tramping made my discs bulge, then the pressure from that easily broke part of my spine during football. Out for 8 weeks, sucked. Now every time I tramp it hurts.

I get little aches sometimes, but its usually not too bad.

My secret is to land on my head enough to strengthen my spine. True story

for real though go to the gym and strengthen your core and take time off if it hurts. If its not in your muscles, pain is never good.

I just woke up this morning after jumping on my friends tramp yesterday (I don't have one so i don't jump very much) it suckkkssss

yeah i get it when i jump for too long, but i never really do anything to prevent it, i thought it was normal

ahh.. Dont jump if its hurts? Simple rule, and easy to follow. Every season i keep 1 week period without trampoline, instantly as it starta to hurt. Then im free for the rest of the summer

i used to get this.

for the past 8 years i never owned a trampoline, and instead would go to this place locally that had trampolines and jump for like 20 minutes every once in a while.

then last summer, i bought a trampoline. we set it up and for the first week i had brutal back pains while jumping on it. literally after a week and a half of toughing it out and taking quick tramp sessions, the pain went away. i'm pretty sure it has to do with the strength of muscles in your back as previously mentioned, because i'm at my summer house right now jumping on my trampoline (or any trampoline for that matter) for the first time since the end of last summer, and i'm having 0 pain.

My friend gets this, it ruins his trampoline experience. Also that sucks for you. But really not be a dick but mods should move this to NSG.

I get pain as well. Thought it was just me. Been working on stretching for a while, and hopefully I can get some more strength for it before the summer
