Attitash Park 2011-12

ahhh fuck this is so ill. of course its the weekend that my dad donates our condo to the adaptive program though... im going to try and stay up with a friend who instructs at attitash, hopefully hit this airbag. never thought id see the day that attitash would have an airbag. how bigs the jump gonna be?
 
who's ur friend, i may know them cuz i am an instructor as well. and the jump is gonna be like 14 feet high i think? it's gonna be like an arial jump not a park kicker
 
dean ludgate is his name. he's got a teal and yellow armada jacket he wears when he's not teaching. and didnt end up getting to come up thanks to a concussion... laid out backflip to tip catch to face smash, probably shoulda waited for the air bag haha.

yeah dude, i wanna see if i can be a coach this summer cuz they may have a summer camp for teachin kids how to do stuff into the air bag
 
in a few weeks one of the guys on the park crew told me. but they plan on putting some jibs underneath the jumps they have in the "pipe" on lower ptarmigan. they were blowing snow on it and taking rails out to set them up, so if not this weekend deffs next weekend they should be up.
 
Red saga. Black air breaks, black pants black helmet. Can barely 3 the second jump... haha

I haven't been up in a few weeks though.

This Saturday there will be a slopestyle comp. this is the info Attitash put on their site: (it'll be on Lower Ptarmigan instead of Thad's Choice though)

Test your skills in the ATP Slopestyle, an all out, top-to-bottom run in the park styling out tricks over 4-5 judged features.

Entry Fee: $10

Location: Thad's Choice

Registration: 8-11 a.m. in the South Wing

Event Time: 12 p.m.

 
yes, it's going to be done where the "pipe" is a.k.a. lower ptarmigan. They r gonna throw some rails in and make a money booter which i'm pumped about. and there will obvs be easier elements like a flat box i'd assume for the younger kids
 
word. so thads won't change. I'll be up sunday filming with my friend if anybody wants to take a few laps. He is pretty good at editing.
 
yeah, all of that is from what i heard from the park crew. it's not a 100% fact but i rly hope they have 1. Will Leland be competing?
 
ill be there i think. is it doable to lap the park that the comp is on from the double doubles? cause a ticket for just beginner lifts is cheap and if i dont need to buy a all mtn ticket i dont really want to haha

it looks like you could cut over you can never be sure how accurate the maps are though haha
 
Slopestyle was wick today, i had a blast.

Next weekend is big air on saturday. i hope to see the amount we had today, good vibes!
 
haha that's because i was chillen with him on the second hit during saturdays comp and we talked about that. haha All the features need to be like 3x bigger

back in the day when drew levin, richie paradise, tucker perkins, pete and nick iodice were floating around that kind of stuff was the norm. Most people dont remember attitash's glory days
 
yeah, i knew they alll grew up there. i just never had a chance to see them cuz i was always shreddin over at bear as a kid until i was like 14
 
so i've been working at Attitash all summer and i hang out in the bike shop during my breaks. while being in there i hear a lot of the up and coming things for the new winter season. For the up and coming season the Terrain Park will no longer be on Thad's Choice. It will be moved to the Abenaki chairlift area. I'm super stoked on this because i've been talking about them moving the park to that area for a while. They will still hold events on Attitash in the "super pipe" area.

ummmm, idk yet dude. i'm currents at school and i wont be at attitash all winter except for winter break. but my buddy Kyle is on park crew and he said they may be having new elements. they'll have more space in this area to be more creative i feel. but only if they put the effort it. the main issue has always been effort but kyle is the only one returning because i'm in school with Matt and Nolan who were the other two on the crew last year. They also have a shit ton of old jibs in the bone yard. if they fix them up it'd be sick!
 
i haven't heard anything, nor have i asked about opening weekend. a few of my buddies work on park staff (kyle ross and Mat Halupowski) if you know them you guys could hit them up and ask. Kyle would know most. Matt was saying how they're making new features, like for instance they're cutting half the rainbow in half and putting a flat bar on the cut off part. it sounds sick. they also got a 6 foot in diameter ball to jib, which was at the wildcat "rail jam" and they have an even bigger jib ball as well. They really plan on stepping the park up and are trying to make it similar to Carinthia at Mount Snow
 
Ha. But i did hear from someone that works there that they'll be bringing back the airbag more than once this year and at wildcat which im stoked on
 
yeah, Peaks Resorts owns Attitash, Wildcat, and Mount Snow. it'll obvs not be as great as Carinthia but they are making the idea of it where the park is in a secluded area so no gapers enter it, as much. Also they plan on having some people from mount snow come up to help build the park, they said this last year and they only came up once or twice and they want them to come up more this year... we shall see. I'm going to be there for training this weekend because i coach there but i wont be there every weekend cuz i'll be at Loon
 
also, What's good Justin haha. this is Jack if you didn't know. i just creeped on your page to see who this is
 
they have 3 trails open right now, Moat, Grand Stand, and Illusion. There apparently is only 2 features up on bear peak a flat box and a flat bar, both are but small. i didn't see it, just what i heard
 
Nah i was there today and it had the flat bar and the a frame box which was actually alright. Plus there's the flat down and another flat box off to the side so they might be trying to set that up soon hopefully
