Atomic thugs

lookin for a pair of pow jib skis

.

can people tell me how these are? flex wise, switch, all conditions, where they are mounted things like that

I mounted my Bacons like +2 from rec so that is like -2 from true center and I ride them all over even in the park they are legit, but no rails. Obviously they slay pow, and due to their big sidecut they carve really nicely on groomed for a ski that big. Ya I dunno what else to say, other than they are sick. I'm 5'9 150 by the way.

im 5`8 on the 182 thugs true centre mounted. theyre fun as shit. soft nose, stiffer but not hugely stiff tail. its a way different feeling skiing on them, really surfy. in pow theyre great, in park theyre fun but a little heavy.

Such a fun ski. Had a pair for last season, so soft, so floaty, so fat. Can't turn well on fast speeds or ice. Really soft nose. Great ski over all.

How much do you weigh though? and whats your hieght. I had the 06/07 model, skied them for about 45 days then the snapped underfoot from pressure. Probally just cause of my weight. If I bought the 192's, they probally wouldnt of snapped on my.

Bacons would not be a good choice, they are tiny. Anyone over 6ft hoping to mount their pow skis near center should not buy bacons. I sold mine and got 189 bents..

Righto.

I skied the Nordica Zeros center mount, they felt so short, and they were longer than the thugs.

i've just got 06/07 thugs, exactly the same construction as 08/09 model but different graphics, havent skied them yet for obvious reasons.

they are soft but not as soft as bacons, light and from skiing last years thugs (which are exactly the same) they float beautifully and are super playful, although if you want to charge lines hugo harrison style then they are not for you. They are not the greatest on groomers or ice becasue there tip is so soft. Fantastic ski tho, id recomend it to anyone who uses them in the right situations

I have the 192s (for sale though) and liked them quite a bit. Sorta overlap with my ARGs and on3p Great Scotts though, so that is why I am selling them.

I agree that they are soft in the tip and don't do so well on ice and stuff, groomers are ok, but you need to be going really really fast. A 41m turning radius will do that. They are awesome skis in the pow. And in the trees. The lack of sidecut (and light tips and tails) makes them really easy to turn quickly, even at 192. True, as mentioned before, they don't hold up super well for hugo harrison style big mountain stuff, but I've had them ripping pretty good. If you want them as a big jib stick, they are perfect. Think of the old JP vs Julien (the original fat jib stick). I actually had the original JPs before I had the Thugs, and my first thought when I got on the Thugs was that they were everything the JP should have been. Longer, fatter and a little stiffer (mainly underfoot).
