Anyone ski the 116 JJ at different mount points and have a feel for what they prefer?

Recommended on the topsheet is -2.5cm from center.

Got some 192s I’m looking to mount up.

Thanks!

I just got these skis and have them mounted at the recommended point. No complaints at all and would do the same thing if i get another pair

a few years late here on the reply, but I’ve been rocking the ARV 116 jj for 2 seasons now. I have them mounted right between the two recommended mounting points, -2.5cm and 6cm, so they are at about -4.5cm. I mounted them with the thought that I’d use them to learn my spins in pow, but it really didn’t make a difference in my ability to do spins. It did however make it tougher to stay afloat in the pow. With that being said, if I did it again I would mount them at the recommended -6m for the ski to feel it’s best. REMEMBER, this is a ski Tanner hall helped design, and that -2.5 rec on the ski is where the master himself is mounting his JJs. He skis switch and lands switch all the time, so unless you’re getting buck like T Hall, I’d just go with the -6cm.

I have a pair mounted at -1cm with kingpins and they're fun af but they're also 185's and I'm 5'7" so I still have enough ski in front of the binding. Kick turns can be a lil annoying but they're otherwise fine.

This ski was actually designed to be mounted at the “freestyle recommended line” I have owned/skied every version of the 116 since it’s been produced and the first few didn’t even have 2 mount points the only recommended line was -2.5 from center but now they just put it on there to please the general public. This is a twin pow ski it’s meant to be ski that way and it’ll give you a balanced even swing weight Sure you can mount it farther back but it’ll ski like garbage.

I had my JJs mounted 2cm back from ski centre and they were dope. Even brought em into the park a few days

I was gonna say, if you’re not spinning or flipping or just someone who enjoys a closer to symmetrical ski, you’re on the wrong one. Who would buy this to mount it at -6 is beyond me, just buy a Tracer 118 if you want more nose. Wack take

Yeah this is a bad take. If you want more float buy a Tracer 118. Don’t buy a freestyle ski if you don’t want to ski freestyle. Also JP Auclair and Julien Regnier designed this ski, not Tanner Hall.
