14274537:TreyDudski said:I always like to think that "there is always someone better". At the end of the day, who cares if you are the best skier on the mountain? If youre going up to ski just to prove youre the best, than you are missing the point of skiing all together.
And for the argument that park skiers aren't good skiers or whatever, I can almost guarantee that 95% of the people who only ski park can additionally throw down around the mountain. Plus some of the best all mountain skiers started out as park rats, Candide, T-Hall, Wiley Miller, and I could name a few more.
14274549:casual said:I agree with your sentiment...but I’m pretty sure all of those dudes started in the bumps and shredding all mountain. But, still, if we are talking dudes and dudettes who spend most of their time in the park but live in places with access to good terrain, I guarantee you they rip all over. Edge control is edge control. Athleticism is athleticism.
Now if we are talking about people on the EC or something that are exclusively park rats and don’t have access to terrain, it’s probably different.

14274588:Christian_Bale said:I do remember that, utterly hilarious, if we're referring to the same guy. Atrocious rail game, could barely do 5s and 3s, but was able to do dub fronts with hands behind his back
14274574:_milotv_ said:i'd disagree with you there as well. I ski at a tiny tiny mountain that barely gets any snow, and I pretty much only ski in the park but i think park skiing has helped me be a better all mountain skier anyway because I can recover, if i lose control or something I can get back on track pretty easily even in tight terrain, because im used to sketchy landings and stuff like that
14274576:watto said:let's see some vids of you doing them then
topic:b00mSkis said:or you know anyone worse? i know some people who are equally as shit as me but I met them through skiing. i never met anyone outside of skiing who happens to be worse at skiing as me.

14275511:g_lectrolyte said:Absolutely not.. I think out of all skiers worldwide (read: mostly tourists who ski green n blue runs) most ppl on this site are in an upper percentile of skier, but the beautiful part of this sport is everyone shines in a way someone else may have never even thought about.. the way they turn or the way they grab or how they spin, all of those minute details can be so different from skier to skier. If you ski with homies or even randos, especially ones who are skiing at a higher level than you, you will always continue to progress and improve. Everyone who skis or boards should strive to learn what they can from others.
