Apple Protection Plan?

I just have a couple quick questions about Apple:

Tomorrow I'll be picking up the new Macbook Pro, assuming everything everyone's been saying about the new release is true... I've been using PC's all my life and need a change. But since I've never owned a Mac I know nothing about buying one.

The closest Mac store is about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive for me. So that kind of rules out that option. The closest place I could pick up a Mac is at Best Buy. I know Best Buy is an authorized Apple dealer, but I have no idea if you can pick up the Apple Protection Plan there. The last time I bought a computer was about 6 years ago, and I got stuck with the Best Buy insurance (geek squad). I'm trying to avoid that because they have never actually fixed any of the problems I've had with my computer. Ever. I heard Apple's Insurance Policy is way more legit. So is it possible to get the Apple Protection Plan at Best Buy when I buy a new Macbook? Or am I better off just buying from the Apple website tomorrow?

You could buy it online. But I'm pretty sure you can buy apple care through best buy that is run by apple, not best buy.

DEFINITELY wait for the new release, it will be the same price for a new product.

Oh, yeah, I'm definitely waiting for the new model, just want to make sure I can get a good insurance option for it and not the useless Geek Squad one.

Yeah, you can buy apple care for any apple product and its the most legit protection service ever, on my old MBP i got roughly 1000 dollars of free repairs and they replaced my imac with a brand new one because they didnt wanna fix the problems on my imac. My roommate had a fucked up MBP, pretty old model and the video card failed and they pretty much replaced his computer with brand new parts. Pretty sweet.

Damn, that's awesome. I should have just bought Mac in the first place. Geek Squad took almost 7 months to repair the disc drive on my Vaio, only to have to it break a week after I got it back. You're sure they have the plan through Best Buy though?
