APO Has Arrived!

Didn't he post in another thread that he wasn't leaving Salomon and denied the rumors? Could have been Martini though, can't quite remember.
 
I was thinking this too. If he's in a transistonal period though, he'll half to work with what he has. APO doesn't look like they offer as broad of a product like like Salomon does. However, Sammy probably trusts the bindings for the style of skiing he does, and decided to use them. I'm sure we'll see him equipped with a different boot too down the road.
 
He also still have Salomon boots.

Kinda sucks for Salomon two of their/the best park orientated athletes (Dumont too) leave within one month of eachother.
 
from what i know about apo it's a solid company and i'm stoked to see an international pro-rider like sammy join a company that 1) is european2) has both snowboard and ski

3) still has a lot of potential to grow, and with a rider like sammy on their team we might be hearing more and more about em !

+ apo is an historical brand in snowboarding, it's cool they're making the transition to skiing AND sb and signing big-shot pros ....
 
kinda different men, simon and sammy been with salomon for over 8 years, they were pretty much the face of this company, with bobby brown ... and mike douglas ! haha just kidding
 
Would have expected hm to go to Klint. They're having such a push for athletes lately, and there's the whole Rockstar thing going on..
 
THIS, Salomon was tired of putting up with Simons shit so they dropped him (he was dropped in june and it took until october for him to find a new sponsor). Sammy saw a good opportunity and took it
 
No I actually know people in Salomon. It's been a couple years now that they have been thinking abut dropping Simon Dumont for many reasons. Because of his poor attitude a lot of the time, he wasn't a very good face for the company. Also they were paying him a lot each year, way more than any other Salomon athlete. So why spend all the money on him when he has a poor outlook and is no long on the top of his game, when they could drop him and pay their newcomers much more such as Bobby Brown, at the time, and still have more money without him. Although I don't know exactly what happened in the end, whether he quit or they dropped him first.
 
heres hows it all went down:-july 17th, jon flies simon out to race lamborginis and talk about the industry-july 18th 8:47am. jon builds simon a halfpipe in sweden with high elevation snow, challenging simon that heads are better then salomons-july 18th 2:33pm: simon's first hit on salomons was 21.5ft-july 18th 2:43pm: simon's first hit on heads was 24.5ft-july 19th 8:17am: simon and jon wake up and crawl out of bed over 4 18 year old groupies-july 19th 8:23am: after jon is done combing his hair he high fives simon for a great couple days-august 2nd: simon calls salomon and tells them about his differences in height on his 1st hits-august 3rd: salomon sends simon a box of chocolates and flowers-august 4th: jon sends simon a box of chocolates twice the size of salomons and prettier flowers-august 5th 11:45pm: simon eats both boxes of chocolates and signs with head

 
look like all the designs where picked from an ugly top sheet contest. but besides that cool for him stepping out in a path less taken.
