which, per my understanding, is the basis of existentialism. this could be a simple discrepancy in our teachers' interpretations, but thats how i understood to concept. it seemed to me like the whole book was based entirely on existentialism; from his mothers death, to his own impending doom. he just never really cared. the physical world seemed to be his only respite from all the bullshit of the "normal" world, and "normal" concerns.
sorry everyone for hijacking this thread to talk about slight differences in interpretations.
