wrx's and sti's really arent that fast, and they are extremely easy to control, you can be a dumbshit driver and handle a wrx like its nothing. yeah when people mod them into gay drag cars then they become really fast and somewhat hard to control, but a wrx anywhere close to stock is not that fast at all.
i think its that kids under age like 30 think they just bought a rally car, but there is a HUGE difference between a rally car and a wrx. in a rally car you can roll it and keep driving like nothing happened, in a wrx you would probably break some bones and your car would be totaled. in a rally car you can flip 20 times and get out with a headache. in a wrx if you flip 20 times your gonna be in pieces after like the 5th roll. rally cars can jump and take hard landings drive over extremely harsh surfaces while scraping on the skidplates the whole time. on a wrx, you do one jump or drive too fast on too harsh of a surface and your shocks are gonna be blown out. after 30 seconds, other than that your gonna bend your frame, tear out tons of shit from the underside, break off your bumpers/sideskirts etc... wrx's and sti's are nothing close to rally cars, with 10-15 grand in prep work they are.
my suggestion to the op. if i were you id get a cheap car atleast for the first 2 months or like drive your parents cars. i did this and im very thankfull, you WILL dent up your car and hit stuff for the first couple months or so while you get the hang of stuff. i scratched and dented my shitty car 4 times, then after like 4 months i was good and i bought my real car.
and if you get a wrx, please dont mod it like a fag. i see so many wrx's with cans scraping on the ground, gay bov's and shit. keep it stock atleast in the engine, if you have to mod it, mod it where it really counts, in the suspension and chassis. engine mods are for pussies. you will understand how overrated straight line accleration is compared to handling when you have a good handling car.
