Anyone else burned out?

maybe these might help...

1) scare yourself more when ur riding like someone said above. try shit that might end up in an injury if it goes bad

2) take a year off...i missed last season (torn acl) and im going to miss this season too (recovery from the acl survery) but i am sooo pumped to ski.

3) if ur riding some old equipment go and buy some new stuff that would get yeah stoked to ski on em

I think i kinda know how you feel-- actually, no, I don't

But, here are some things that might help

Get some new awesome skis

Get some ski bum friends who are way better than you are so you can step it up a little,

If you don't feel like skiing that day, don't, because it'll only make you dislike it more.

peace.

nice onepiece

What ski movies do you own gdawg?

Cus' that by far gets me pumped the most.

Wait till ski season dude.. i think its the fear itself of not loving skiing thats actually the problem, im fighting that fear right now as I type. Just relax, skiing's fun.SO fun.

Pretty much everyday I ski I get a little burned out and at the end of the day I'm like yeah It's time to go in. But since I only get to ski on the weekends usually by the next morning up ready to go again thinking of something new to try or some way to make myself better. I was a little worried about my move to tahoe in the coming winter until I remembered all those days just sitting, thinking about how much I wanted to be skiing that day.

I think the best hing you can to do get back into skiing is to change resorts. I love my local hill but even with 2,500 acres I do get a little bored a times and sometimes you just need a change of scenery and terrain to get you stoked again.

Also with big mountain I never feel burned out because you can always go faster ALWAYS. The key is figuring out just how to go faster and stay in some control.

Just do what ever it takes to make skiing fun again. Don't take things too seriously.

Start focusing your skiing on your weakest skills and work at it.Ski with people who are better than you , watch ski movies , master skiing switch.

if you do ski as much big mountain as you say you do, try taking a trip out to jackson hole this season. mid-january is usually incredible. plus, it will give you something to look forward to while you're sitting in chem 140.

im sooo stoked except that december forecast thread sorta scared me

----------------------------------------

I know it's a bit early this year, but every year somebody starts a thread about their goals for the season (that have to do with skiing, not fucking a cheerleader) and you know the rest.

i'm in colorado too.

my roomate had this problem last year and almost didn't buy his pass.

they problem (i think) lies in the fact that you plateaued (sp?).

you feel it's the same thing over and over each time.

his something different and challenge yourself more..

try something different in the park or find some really good back country guys and tag along.

(i ran into some employee's at breck and they showed me parts of the mountain i didn't know existed and they were cool about me taggin' along) I also picked up some pointers too.

hit chair 6 at breck that's where the skiers are.

Vail on a powder day is an eye opener too.

i wish i had enough money to ski 130 days alex :(

no I dont understand because I'll never get sick of skiing. Take a week off or something if you really go up that much. I've never owned a season pass cause I dont live close enough to any mountains and when I actually get a ride 2 1/2 hours to a mountain, I spend every minute from 8 - 4 skiing, no wasting my time drinking fucking hot chocolate. I'll happyly switch with you: come down here to the city and skate some curbs and I can rip it every day in CO.

money for passes should never be a problem, in new hampshire the treedom pass which lets you ski 3 mountains on one pass for the whole season is only 200 bucks and tenney opens october 2nd and a pre-season pass there is only 60-80 bucks (i cant remember) if you bring a school id so for 280 bucks you can ski park from october 1st untill april 15th or so that is 7 months!

quit. you;ll be more pumped then ever around february when you realize that there aint shit else to do in the winter. I was sort of in the same shitty mindset a few years back, then i got hurt and couldnt really ski, thats when you really want to go back.

Reality check...be glad you all can ski...buddy of mine broke his neck in swimming accident, he'd give anythign to be able to ski on the smallest crappiest hill in the flattest part of the country.

WE TAKE THESE RISKS NOT TO ESCAPE LIFE, BUT SO THAT LIFE DOES NOT ESCAPE US

Last season when I was working at vail. I normaily would only ski on my days off so a shitty 3 days a week. It became to big of a pain in the ass before I had to go in to work at 3:30 to walk from the far ass parking lot to the locker room get all my shit then change and head back to work and sit in a snocat all night going up and down the mountain. Also I never did go on a saturday or sunday just way to many damn people.

Well these year iam going to change my views on all that and go a smuch as I can even if its just for a couple runs or gondala laps.
