i do believe the police are sometimes dicks but sometimes they could be really useful...police save lives and protect people. and by saying fuck the police you will regret that one day,i personal think. you are going to need them sometime in your life.

i agree that we need cops to an extent, but IMO they are given way too much authority, and i dont know if its a result of that of the type of people that cop's are, but 90% of the time they are out there looking for any possible way to bust anyone for the smallest fucking thing. there can be too much and too little, and right now, we have too much police enforcement. i actually think crimes might go down with less police involvement because people would have to rely on themselves to stop a fight, stop someone from robbing their store, etc... when 9 out of 10 people will call the cops instead of do something about it themselves, thats just a better reason for the criminal to commit the crime in the first place because they have all the time in the world to get away.
ive got relatives in nebraska and texas, both of them live in very small town's one doesn't even have a police force, the other does but there are like 4 cops. ive spent months at a time with the relative in nebraska, and crimes just do not happen there. and i would never want to try to rob someone or anything in either town because the people are responsible for themselves and will fuck you up if you do, everyone own's a gun, and basically every resident helps and backs up the other residents.
and the cop's are only there to stop real crimes if they do happen, and help people out if they are in trouble or hurt. you can speed 20 over past them and they dont give a shit, there are people riding around in unlicensed motorcycles and even car's, and they wouldnt even think of doing a thing about it. my uncle know's one of them and he helped him blow a couple tree stumps out of the ground with homemade pipe bomb's. there are so many retarded worthless law's out there, and they dont give a shit about them. and thats how it should be.
i actually really respect cops like that, but i dont respect the cops out there finding every possible way to bust people for bullshit law's that shouldnt exist in the first place.
so fuck most the police.
 
i live in an all white town where the cops don't do anything except break up parties. there was a stat in our newspaper a while ago that said our town's police haven't fire a weapon on duty in like 30 years. anyone else live in the hood?
 
i know a kid that flipped off a cop and yelled "fuck the police" at him.

he got arrested haha but no charges he just got driven to the station then let go
 
ive always wondered what would happen if i did that, there have been a couple times ive really wanted to do that to some asshole cops. what charges exactly would it be?
 
a highschool i went to briefly was next door to a police station and some girl said fuck the police and full student cop brawl broke out and kids were tunning around downtown all hypd up yeling fuck the police and shit theres videos on youtube

and i went to summer school with the girl who yelled fuck the police which caused a cop to push her which resulted in her brother swinging at the cop, mayhem pursued/claim

well thats one side of things, and I would say I agree completely. But dealing with cops for other issues besides those that you mentioned, cops can go fuck themselves.

Don't get me wrong though when I say that, i've dealt with some pretty legit cops before, but thats only 25% of the ones ive had to deal with. the other 75% are complete assholes. for example, I live in a small town in western canada, and one day during spring break a few years ago, i got busted for having 3 grams of pot on me(not enought to be crimaly charged, and only enough to be confinscated) and the cop decides to keep me in a holding cell over night. He called my parents(i was still under age at this time) and explained to him how he suspects me of being one of the towns top drug dealers and asked my dad all these questions. My dad called our lawyer and sorted things out and I was out the next day. When the officer let me out, he told, word for word, "Watch your back, you got lucky this time, your bullshit story wont get you out next time." So really, half the time, they're just waisting OUR tax money and bullshit stunts like that. Im no drug dealer, nor do I go around causing mischief(to much), but they need to get their priorities straight....
 
if youre in your car you can get improper signal or something for flippin the bird, at least I read about that happening.

but cops suck fat dicks.
 
yes you best watch out, they are the surfer police. they surf the internet looking for people cybertize all while smokiing joints drinking beer with a bear yeeaaa.
 
I'm finishing a criminal justice degree up right now. Was thinking about city law enforcement in Philly for at least a few years but my ultimate goal is Marshals or FBI
 
cops are like any other people, they're HUMAN

humans make mistakes, humans do dumb shit, a certain percentage of all humans will be crazy ass abusive people. if you take 100 cops, have them go about their work, and let's say 2 of them brutalize someone and the media goes apeshit, people assume all cops are brutal freaks but there are still 98 other police officers doing their jobs

There are assholes in every job. The bitch waitress, the asshole cashier at the supermarket and so on. People like to hold the bad actions of police officers higher than the good they do. many of the LEO's i know are good people. they coach local sport teams and engage in other community services on their precious time off.
but, apparently to some people, every police officer is an asshole.

Know your rights and know the law and there should be no problems when dealing with cops. They're civil servants who get paid shit. They have to put up with humanity at its worse at times and then they have to come back and deal with spoiled white kids who yell at them when they bust them for not keeping their party quite. When a cop is infringing on your rights you need to know that and protect that, but when you're breaking the law know that the cop is only doing their job.
 
I would say that definitely counts. It always pisses me off when I'm driving drunk at night and someone like yourself pulls up behind me. I turn into random parking lots to avoid you and as you drive past i realize how big of a dumbass i am.

some of you might be from big cities and already posted, but i guess i'm the first to say it- i live in san francisco and i am very happy with the police here. the only times i've been talked to have been police rolling by on halloween and they said to have fun and be safe. other times, police roll up in their car, we hide the "contraband" before they can see it, and they go away. my sister once thought her car was stolen (turns out she actually just parked her car one block over from where she thought she did ... durp de duurr) and the policeman involved was totally nice, into helping, and did his job well. i've only really heard good stories about police in san francisco.
now, other side of the story .... tiburon police are exactly what has been said about police earlier in the thread with nothing to do and hunting down teenagers who are out past the 11 o clock curfew. so i agree with that POV.

sparknotes: big city police ROCK, small city police don't.
 
i've found that cops respect me a lot more as i've gotten older. it's all in the image you present them. guy in a suit vs. kid in tall tees bangin his hat. which one looks more suspicious? they definitely "judge a book by its cover". right or wrong, that's how it is.
of course this rule isn't written in stone. i've had a run in or two with cops on a power trip. from what i've found, don't try and argue your case with the cop if he is bustin' your balls. if he's gonna bust you, he's gonna bust you. take your case to the judge because there is no changing the mind of a power trippin cop.

my point was more that the cops in those towns dont go around busting people for any stupid thing, they only use their power when its actually needed. which is how it should be.
i dunno, but it kinda makes sense that somebody who chooses to boss people around and bust people for mostly meaningless shit for a living is gonna be an asshole.
