AMC's The Walking Dead

Weird episode, but still awesome. Shane beat the everloving fuck out of that guy, and it was sweet, sweet justice. I fucking hate redneck fucks like that.

In the teaser for the next episode, it looks like maybe those other people got Rick's guns and they're having a conflict over that. Thoughts?

I watched an episode last night with the roommate... and enjoyed it. guns, a tank, a horse, no housewife drivel or cougars. no complaints there.

from the preview for next week it looks like Rick gets the guns...maybe they just get jumped on their way out of town?

oh and who else thinks shit is going to hit the fan while those guys are still in atlanta and everyone is going to abandon the quarry and Rick's going to lose his wife and kid again for a while.

I think its awesome, i cant stop watching. I keep entering the contest my life would be complete if I got a walk on roll as a zombie in this show.

It's an interesting new program. And it's kinda weird to have a zombie movie cut down into a television series puts a new twist on the theme. Sofar the story hasent developed but even tho they are copying other movies it's still interesting. But it's no mad men

show follows the timeline and the story of the novels superbly. ^all you fucking idiots who think they're copying other movies are, well..fucking idiots.

as far as an adaptation goes, They're doing an excellent job, the added stuff is great and the dropped stuff all works. overall it works and it works well.

Dude, wtf? I completely agreed with him. I read vampire books before they ware cool, and now I can't walk into Borders anymore without running into yet another vampire book. I used to read a lot, but now the Young Adult section of all book stores are full of this vampire shit.

That aside, why you gotta be a jerk?

I agree about the Rick situation. Something will happen and they are gonna get seperated. I also feel that redneck who cut off his hand is gonna come back and fuck something up.

and because the kid was being a whiny little bitch who said he was going to punch people with zombie tattoos...i dont even know where you would find such a person, but still. he was basically acting as though he was the first person who ever watched zombie movies, and now that there's a major cable tv show with a zombie plot he doesnt feel edgy and underground anymore. wah wah wah. i bet he was also pretty upset about his Fallout Boy tattoo after they "sold out"

i think i speak for pretty much everyone when i say that this show is sweet. my brother and i have been fans of the genre since we were little kids, we probably own 15 zombie flicks ranging from the mainstream ones to the weird indie shit. im happy AMC made this show because it's entertaining, and i feel like theyre doing justice to the zombie motif. but even if the show sucked, who cares...it's a fringe genre of cinema, it's not worth getting all butt-hurt about.

I was? I'm 26 and I wouldn't know a Fallout Boy song if I heard one. That's a lot of assumptions about me based on my joking post....but hey, whatever man. Even funnier that you felt the need to lay out your zombie street cred resume later in that post.
P.S. I like the show, and never said I didn't. Certainly not butthurt about it.
I thought the third episode was the best of all at this point. Some solid characters emerging.

If it was a joke then true, maybe you're not rocking the hipster vibes; however, you should be old enough to have figured out that you can't convey tone over the internet so your post was bound to be taken seriously

Let's get back to discussing the awesomeness of The Walking Dead please... >_>

Did anyone else think Shane was going to accidentally kill that guy?

Yeah....because I'm really going to punch a stranger with a zombie tattoo, right? Do I need to explain that I'm not actually going to punch someone?
What's hipster about being annoyed that zombie shit is everywhere? It's called over saturation, or too much of a good thing. I'm not mad that other people also like what I like, some how making it less cool, or hurting my precious "individuality". My identity isn't wrapped up into liking zombie stuff...
"hipster vibes"? gimme a break. You're rocking "dickhead vibes".

whatever you say man, i gotta say that for 26 you certainly sounded like a whiney 14 year-old in your first post...if you want to be treated fairly and have a level-headed conversation about something, that's not the kind've post to start out with

there's this site called 4chan you'd probably enjoy, it's full of people like you

Actually 28 Days Later blatantly ripped off the intro of a novel called Day of the Triffids, which was a pretty awesome British book from the 80's. Its about plant monsters but other than that the intros are exactly the same. Back in the original printings of the walking dead comic the author said that he got lots of e-mails talking about that and he said he had never heard of day of the triffids and the first comic was done before 28 days later came out.
Show is actually unbelievably sick. I'm hoping the franchise takes off because I have original printings of the whole first volume and a couple of them already go for $100 on ebay. I got them for $3 each when they came out lol.

I was having fun. I was exaggerating. There was nothing troll, or 4chan about it. Fuck off, man.
Yeah, because you're responses have been intelligent, mature, level-headed conversation.
The truth is that tst other guy's post, and yours, were totally unnecessary, and attacking me personally—for no reason—justify it however you'd like. I'll stop bogging down this thread with nonsense now.

I'm more disappointed with every episode... They're adding characters that are completely non-canon and useless. i'm starting to believe we won't even see half of the utter craziness of the comics.

For all those familiar with the comics, do you really think the stuff with the Governor will be shown? Cable or not, that shit is absolutely nuts to show on TV.

I don't remember seeing the hand on the ground at the end of the last episode, maybe I just missed it. This episodes interesting so far

I remember the cuffs I just couldn't see the hand I guess, this grandmother stepping in there just saved their asses haha

where the hell did the girl in the green come from when the zombie shit when down. and it looked like more than ed and the girls sister got bit.

Wow... the whole gangsters taking care of old people thing was a surprise, and where is our 1 handed redneck at? Took the van and never showed up while the others got there quickly.

More characters = less time to build them up and less time to drive the plot forward. Seriously, I'm not gonna link to the comics but I 100% suggest that everyone interested should take a peek - shit is just nuts and the drawing style portrays everything perfectly with a vivid "real-life" touch.

On the other hand, couple of characters may be a bit too cartoony (a rough and hardened two handed katana ninja killer, for example) so I'm waiting to see if they'll ever appear.

Looking at other AMC shows, this season is probably only 10-13 episodes long and at this pace we aren't going to see a lot of stuff. I could be wrong and will be pleasantly surprised if my predictions fail.

I guess so, but it would just seem more reasonable to have a smaller group, as in the comic, build up characters, start to like them and BOOM! They're dead. Just like The Sopranos in the old days, you never knew who was going down. It would keep a nice extra spark, not just for us the viewers, but for the actors themselves - they would know that reaper is coming and really get their character out there to become recognized.

same thoughts, still the g's shouldnt of tried to fight in the 1st place...If they would of explained it to the cop, it would of been good from the start.

Show is definitely sick. Has me hooked, can't say its necessarily a "slow" show because it shows the struggles and every day living of people who are uninfected. It gives you the ability to really get to know the characters. And a show about zombies...come on! Sick!

A strange thought just came over me, what if merle led those zombies back there as a bit of revenge,
