AMC's The Walking Dead

there are only 2 episodes left this season, making this season a whopping 6 episodes long.

which isn't unheard of for the first season of some series. the first season of the office was only 6 episodes i think

^ true Office was 6 episodes originally. East Bound and Down was 6 then the next season was 8. I wish this show would be like Breaking Bad with 12-13 episodes

i just want to go out and say.. merle better put some sort of weopon on his stump like bruce campbell in evil dead 2. that would make the show so badass.

if i had a stump id use the hook from candy man

I was seeing this idea on IMDb last night, but I think that's unlikely. I think it's more like the zombies are running out of food in the city and they've been slowly moving into the mountains, then the smell of the fish fry attracted a bunch of them to the camp all at once.

I always think that's the biggest mistake people make in zombie movies. They always have blunt things like a baseball bat for hand to hand stuff. Get a goddamn sword and decapitate those motherfuckers.

cool show, cooler comic...
BUT heres my issue:why the big deal about a bag of guns? they compared em to gold... WTF? there is materiel literallly everywhere! thats whats cool about these kinds of apocalypse flicks, everything is still laying around, unlike nuclear or something. they should be able to find guns and ammo for years to come! especially in the south-gun stores, pawn shops, etc. I dont remember any shortage of weapons in the comic.
nit-picky and geeky I know, but it was a critical part of the plot.

Good way to put it, but yeah same here. Keeps picking me up and leaves me to wait until the next week. And the disappointing thing about next week is it looks like people vs. people rather than people vs. zombies.

Last nights episode was epic. CDC and begging to the camera. Que discussion about epicness and how the show leaves you on a massive cliff hanger every week

this show is really really good.
now i am going to lean to that there are factions of splinter military groups and even go as far as armed kkk members... now with the cdc. i feel that the one guy is looking for a new set of tissue.. it may go to point where he takes one of the party members and infects them so they have the early stages of the virus. now we still have not seen or heard any thing about Merle. i still am praying that when we se him he has a weapon attached to his stump.. and the French were the last to hold out... WTF.

By the looks that they give us at the new episode it seems like he infects the blond chick. I don't know about kkk but yeah I'm surprised it has taken so long for Merle to show up.

Centers for Disease Control, they are all over the country but for some reason I think it is based in Atlanta, could be way off though.

The show is awesome, sad there is only 1 more episode left in the season.

yeah i know right, last night as they were walking up to the CDC there was a M4 sitting on the sandbags, i was like wtf pick that shit up.

I will try to catch some of the newer episodes, my friends said they really liked it and I love zombies so I will give it another shot.

yeah for those who like (or even don't like) the show i definitely recommend reading the comic

just to comment on some things. those saying that it is a ripoff of 28 days later, it definitely isn't. 28 days later was produced in 2003. while the comic book was published in 2003, i am willing to bet kirkman was developing the storyline well before 28 days later came out. furthermore, for those upset more about there being more human vs. human conflict than zombie vs. zombie conflict, thats on purpose. the graphic novel the series is based on is more of a study of human interactions-- how will people act when they are reduced to their lowest form? how will they establish rules and make decisions?-- rather than humans beating the shit out of the undead (which is still present and we all love).

with that being said, i am kinda glad the amc version and its storyline are different than the comic. its nice to see that the series is going to be a bit longer than i expected. at this point i am treating it as a different story altogether.

also glenn and dale are such bosses

and carl better kill shane soon

the way that last episode ended...

its making it hard to guess how merle will get tied into the last episode this season. or if he will...

sorry for the double post but i couple of things i wanted to add

its gonna be interesting to see how they introduce characters like tyreese and michonne, if they do so at all, especially michonne. she seems a little to cartoony be exactly the same character but they must get her in there somehow because she becomes so important later on with the governor

also i definitely think they are gonna include the governor for those wondering if he was too extreme for cable. they already showed a couple sex scenes between shane and lori and rick and lori that, of course, weren't too graphic but still there. i'm sure they will show the governor and how fucked up he is, just not show everything

any barnes and noble or borders. they have good size graphic novel/ comic sections. pretty sure they are put out by image

I don't know if you read my posts, but they're almost like carboncopies of yours, haha. We are definitely on the same page here.

holy shit, my friends and I are working on a sitcom. we fucking love zombies, we should write something and send it into them.

Great post.
I haven't read the comics, but anyone whose chief criticism of the show is that it doesn't follow the comics, well....I dunno. Stupid?
Also, I think the human interactions are the most natural thing to focus on in a zombie apocalypse, and I applaud the author, screenplay writer/editor and so on for really making the relationships at the heart of the gore/horror/zombiemadness the focal and most interesting aspect of the whole shibang....
It forces us to consider which pieces of human nature really manifest when all of our pretenses and former labels/jobs/statuses mean fuck all. It's ultimate parity and survival of the fittest. Best example is how the slight yeller feller (racism?!) really thrives as he's good with direction, timeliness, and general awareness—because he's a pizza delivery guy!, hahaha. Maybe a little heavy-handed, but the idea that society and civilization would be stood on its ear is fun. It also forces us to consider what we would do ourselves in any given situation. And it provides a peek at how "institutions" (like the "law").
Say what you want, but it's more ambitious, high-minded, and I'd argue "smarter" than the majority of shows on tv. It's better than me sitting in a dark room watching another fucking Seinfeld re-run anyway...

Season finale tonight, AMC decided it's not on my tv plan anymore. Anyone know if you can watch it online live stream?
