Alta....rails

So Alta not only built some jumps but they put in rails.this is a horrible thing to do to such a radical ski area. email me if you will help me sabotage these rails one night.

seems none of you have been to alta, the rails should go because they may bring jib monkeys to alta, and alta doesnt need those things, if they come they will ruin the alta vibes

The rails should be hidden all over the mountain in secret areas so only certain people can rock em. This would keep park rats out, and the Alta vibes in.

well fuck that bastard, i ski'd alta a lot this season, and all i have to say is fuck that bitch cuz hes to pussy to hit some rails, and what the fuck its off the sunnyside lift, which means park rats would not be where alta really is, and if you ski off the sunnyside lift well your just a bitch and should go fall off a cliff *onto rocks*

snowboarders arent allowed at alta right? this could be a step towards allowing snowboarders if you think about it. they will see a bunch of people using the rails and park and see that they could earn a lot more money allowing snowboarders. just a thought

see i think this denali guy is just pissed because he cannot grind rails. I know he has tried more than once and failed everytime so instead he takes photos. Since the rails alta has are pretty lame to take photos of, especially considering what else is at alta, he just comes on here and bitches in between masterbating.

i can grind some rails and altas are simple i will grind them this week and be succesful theo in between my large periods of jerkin it. and snowboarders will never be allowed at alta thats a fact.

^ ya for surem and its not that we hate snowboarders at alta, it just is very nice to be around all skiers, adds a nice effect to the mountains and snowboarders would not be able to handle the large amounts of traversing at alta.

I used to hate rails because I couldnt do them but this year I figured it was about time I actually tried them. Took a few hard slams but now I got them dialed and you know what? They are maaad fun! Saying new school will ruin the vibe of a place is crazy. Change is inevitable and really if you think adding jumps and rails to a resort will spoil it you stand against the whole new school ideolgy which is that of progression and thats just small minded thinking man. boooo!

 
I have ripped Alta in 2.5 feet of Utah white gold dust - I also like to hit the occasional rail. I wouldn't worry about the Alta vibes going anywhere, they still don't allow snowboarders and i doubt the terrain park scene will a) be expansive enough or b) attract enough 'jib monkeys' to ruin the feel of the place (though I'm not sure that a little newschool vibe to complement the hippie vibe would be such a bad thing). Just my $0.02

I say, good for alta!

Alta is my favorite place, and yes it is old skool, and it never had any jumps besides stadium. BUT CMON! A ski resort for skiers, why not give them rats something to play on too? It's not like they are putting rails on frikkin Devil's Castle or Alfs.

to those who feel rails are gay and atla should't have them. this is something I wrote in the slc/pc cult pertaining to this same subject.

if alta doesn't do something they are going to go under. In todays ski world a park is how a resort can make money. and think about it, a park at one of the best places in the world to ski will make it just that much better. You don't have to ski in the park if you don't want to. but some people at alta might on those days that it hasnt snowed in two weeks or in the spring. and if there is a park sure you are going to get more people who only ski park, but what happens on that big pow day and they realize that pow is sick too. they will start riding the rest of the mountain taking their tricks to places like A frame, stadium, tree jump, cathrins, ect and do stuff off of those natural feature that you too hit, but becuse they jump all day in the park working on things like style and flow that they will end up being a better skier than you. so get off your high horse and realize that skiing is evolving in to something more than just pow lines and park is the reason for that. so don't get left behind take a few laps in the park on shitty days so that all the groms that can do every trick in the book don't pass you by and leave you in their rooster spray off of their fatty twin tips.

Even if alta has a pretty good sized park, people aren't going to come to alta to hit up the park. They're going to go to alta cus it has amazing snow and steeps. The park will just be a nice addition to it. If people are going to the mountain just to ski park, they're going to go to park city or snowbird or various other places, not alta.

... Where are these jumps and rails? I was there Last Sunday (March 14) and i didn't see any rails or jumps... However, I was at brighton the rest of the week, and their park was a bit better than what I remember.

Am I also correct that Solitude now has a park?

 
to the offtrial production co guy, probably brent or justin, but your last movie sucked because of all the rails. and if alta can afford to put in a high speed lift from wildcat bas4e to top o' germ with mid load station and move wildcat lift up 150 feet then i would say they are doing pretty well.
