everyone loves to show off their axes

so

who has the nicest guitar?

Pics or it didn't happen, and though i am not expecting to win, i'll start off with

06 gibson SG special-love it to death really versatile guitar, les paul roar with fender-esque twang in the treble position

Here is my Breedlove AD/SR25+

without a doubt my prized possesion. I have never played an acoustic that felt like this. Light touch, but a bold full sound. real intense mids, perfect for jazz

I buy and sell guitars on ebay, and I've had and sold some pretty nice guitars including:

Gibson Les Paul 59 VOS reissue

'66 Gibson Sg Special in 9/10 condition

Numerous Hendrix Tribute Strats

1969 RARE Gibson Lg-12 acoustic

I sold a KR Megavibe Univibe clone pedal for $875

But currently, I'm using the Fender CP 60's Strat. One of the best guitars you can get right now.

I play bass and have an american made 60th anniversary edition fender jazz bass.....nothing amazing but a decent instrument

I have some sort of fender acoustic that i've yet to really learn how to play since getting it two years ago. How did you guys pick up guitar? I got some free lessons for a little while but they sucked and i didn't learn anything.

Ive got a 1985 Japanese fender strait... if you know anything about fenders and japan in the 80s, you know the story behind them

fender acoustic 1975ish i think, somekind of holobody ibenez and my epiphone sg (first guitar i bought). i also really got into piano though so i bought myself this pretty decent keyboard. its got pretty much everything except for that hammer touch. ill post up some pics tomorrow

wow i just realized no ones going to give a shit about my keyboard when this is a guitar thread

i have an american highway 1 series fender tele but my dad has an original 69' les paul sunburst that i play when hes not around to tell me to put it back

the one on the left is mine, the one on the right belongs to my friend stan's dad

Brian Moore iguitar8.13
^ love this guitar so much, has a 13 pin plugin for connecting to my comp.

also a slightly older gibson chet atkins hollow body
also pretty cool

another one - prs hollowbody mcarty (i think)
great guitar, super light

standard fender strat - turquoise

plus many more

i love guitar and my dad played alot too but now plays piano so we have lots of guitars lying around

pics possibly soon

it was my dads but i kinda inherited it
sick guitar, if you ever have the chance to play one for any period of time you will definitely know what i mean

My guitar is for sure my most valued possesion. 1972 Strat. I love this guitar. My dad gave it to me...He'd had it since the 70's but never really played it much because he always had other guitars that were set up better. So I put some money into it, had it refretted, cleaned, and set up properly, and now it's amazing. It has that inimitable vintage strat sound.

I'm also building myself a tele:

Wow man that Strat is beautiful. Are you going to paint the Tele or stain and varnish it? That wood's got a pretty cool texture, what is it, cherry?

Oh, yeah.

I'm rocking an $80 acoustic which, with a fresh set of strings seriously sounds fantastic.

And the Squier Tele I've had for like 9 years. Woo. Beat to hell, electrical is shot, but it's good enough to noodle with and beat on when I take it places......

For about 6 months I borrowed a Gibson Les Paul Gothic, what an incredible instrument, put a little distortion on it and it would pretty much melt your face, but a little reverb and a couple other tweaks and it was the most subtle instrument I've ever played......... I was SO bummed I couldn't come up with the $ to buy it outright, one of my big regrets..........

siiiiiick man, a real vintage strat! I bet it sounds amaazing.

I would personally put a different pick guard on it though. I hate white pickguards on strats...

if I could have any guitar, it would be it in this color:

I got to play it once and it sounded amaaaazing.

either that or a David Gilmour black strat.

Bangor - That's not a current photo. I shellaced it with blonde shellac, and sprayed clear lacquer over that. The lacquer is currently curing (takes months). After that, I'll polish it to a nice shine, the end product being shinier, more defined, and slightly yellowed compared to as you see it there.

And as for the strat, if it wasn't all original I might switch out the pickguard, but since that's the original, I'm gonna keep it like that for sure.

haha also I have a 3/4 size squire strat, which i use with a tiny (clips to my belt) danelectro amp. haha. i can just walk around anywhere jammin' it up. i usually play silly drop d metal songs on it. it's my dream to find other people with hip amps and play the entirety of iron maiden's "hallowed be thy name" on the bus, and time it so that right when we get done, it's our stop and we get off. it would blow minds.

mid 1980s Fernandes Strat.

I love it sooo much, it has three seymour duncan pickups which sound just amazing.

This is my 06 Mexican Tele. Not the nicest but a really solid guitar, and I think it looks sweet.

This is my gibson SG special, like the OP's. Not sure of the year.

And this is perhaps my favorite. It's my dad's '79 Strat. This was the first model with a certain type of paint, but it was discontinued after reports of the paint started chipping. All original paint still, even if it is spotty! pics to come because i have none as of now!

same BREEDLOVE as first posted. soooo dope. got a relatively old OVATION that i like quite a bit.
RICKENBACKER! don't have one but my friend does. thought it was a name worth having up.

haha, I went back to keys from guitar and have a (too) large synth collection, but I still have a mid 80s regal tricone that I sometimes sit and play for hours on end, just different blues riffs, its a blast. and I have a shechter classic that I dick around on as well.

ok yeah...i saw the thread and i was like psssschhhh i'm so putting mine up.

then i saw your guys' and mines just kind of an embarrassment.

some of those were reeeally fuckin sick.

nice dude! i love the tortoise guard on the tele. mexican tele standards are a great buy too, you got a lot of bang for your buck!

nice strat too. i like the relic look actually.
