Alpental open AGAIN?

The posted on their website that they were going to be open this weekend sometime yesterday afternoon, it was shortly after I got home from Alpental. Can't complain with another weekend of skiing close to home.
 
Well, I want to go, but I dont want to pay for a ticket, especially if I'm just going to be hiking the jump spot all day. I think I'm going to get up early, hit the parking lot at 8 and skin up to the top via the groomers under Armstrong and the upper chair, then probably bootpack up the last pitch to the patrol shack. I hope to get up there around 9:30 or 10. Sunday sounds best for me, so maybe I'll see you all.
 
and whats this about a "jump spot" rowen?

my dream would be if they brought a few rails over like 2 or 3 years ago, when they set them up on that big flat area next to the upper lot. That was so fun hiking the rails up there!
 
Ahahah, I just had a Getto Rail flashback...

The jump spot is to the left off upper international, right past the backcountry gate. Its a pretty nice area, good transitions and all, and a nice wide lip with just the right amount of pop.

And I'm hiking not because of ticket prices, I really just want to try out my skins and trekkers on something a little easier before attempting anything crazy later this month.
 
I seshed to jump spot all day sunday, and will probably be there this sunday as well. Its a nice little kicker, although it could be bigger.
 
My apologies to anyone I offended at the bc jump last weekend. Jump building ettiquette wasn't at its best and I got a little crazy...

I say this weekend, we get a core crew together and build a fatty jump a little further out where we won't have every random dude coming around the corner wanting to drop bomb holes in the landing.

I'm still confused about this remark... decided to go with the middle.... but billy (william) is the first?

My actual name is Ryan Albert Johansen, but I like the name Sean better so I just had my friends start calling me that back in junior high and it stuck.
 
bill or billy is often short for william. yes its weird, but its true. but if i was a william, i would go by will.

It happens everytime... That is why I have to start building them farther out.

I may get something started on Sat. and keep it rolling for Sunday. I am thinking about going as far past piss pass as I can. I will bring a radio and keep it on ch. 4-20 if anyone wants to find me.

Bring shovels. and if you have a bag of salt... maybe that too.

Ahahah, what a day, good lord. Nicks 70 foot gap was INSANE, I cant believe I survived both of my attempts on it. Also had some good fun with a lift structure and a garbage can. Good times, hot damn.
