A sad few days in Baker history.

thats really shitty about your skis and you should kick those jerks asses if you figure out who they were, but something that could help for next time is a ski lock they are pretty cheap but they are fast to put on and get off and prevent anyone stealing your shit. Its worked for me and i haven't got anything stolen.

you know im right and if you smartened up and actually locked your gear up that wouldn't happen unless somebody stole the rack, which happens mabye once a season in the world.

you posted to warn other people to smarten up, which i get.

the sympathy card only gets you so far

locking gear is such a pain in the ass, you would think the skiing community would be made up of thoughtfull people.

canadians dont steal we're too friendly :)

seriosly though, a lock would work, but the person who stole the skis is still a bigger fuck up than the person who had a little faith in the world

The best thing about ski gear is that no one can identify you when you're wearing it. Put up that bandana, mirror lenses, and hood, and take the asshole into the trees and make sure no one finds the body.

ya that is such a good idea, they also do it with bikes in some places. it would be cool if you could pay some guy who works for the mountain to watch your skis, and anyone can pay them. but i tihnk people would rather buy a lock, than pay a certain amount of money for someone to watch/protect your skis

haha same here...no one wants my ancient scratches. Although if you do take them I'll include a free ass beating ....might even bring the paintball gun out if your lucky

I'm pretty sure no one would steal my old skis, but when they were new I locked them up jsut in case. Its a pqain in the ass but so worth it.

Judging by your name I'm assuming you're from Vermont. I've never been to Vermont but I don't imagine the ski scene is much different from the rest of the country, in terms of attitude and vibe. I've skied 6 ski resorts in my life, and very few have both good vibes, and good terrain. Baker has both. We're known for our powder and terrain, and at least on NS we have an immense amount of hype. From my 11 days of on-lift skiing this season, I have noticed an extreme rise in the length of lines, the volume of cars, and the difficulty of finding a seat in the lodge.

For the past 8 years combined, Baker has had probably as many skis and boards stolen as in the past week, that I've heard of. You're right that I should have locked my skis up, there is no need to remind me, just know the circumstances. I trusted the community, but the community has changed, and now I'm paying for it.That is why I'm particularly miffed.
