Judging by your name I'm assuming you're from Vermont. I've never been to Vermont but I don't imagine the ski scene is much different from the rest of the country, in terms of attitude and vibe. I've skied 6 ski resorts in my life, and very few have both good vibes, and good terrain. Baker has both. We're known for our powder and terrain, and at least on NS we have an immense amount of hype. From my 11 days of on-lift skiing this season, I have noticed an extreme rise in the length of lines, the volume of cars, and the difficulty of finding a seat in the lodge.
For the past 8 years combined, Baker has had probably as many skis and boards stolen as in the past week, that I've heard of. You're right that I should have locked my skis up, there is no need to remind me, just know the circumstances. I trusted the community, but the community has changed, and now I'm paying for it.That is why I'm particularly miffed.
