First i disagree because not only do I disagree with the bomb, but you took that shit to a whole 'nother level.
"and i didnt mean it as a personal attack" Clearly was. Not caring, just didn't help you're argument at all.
"when you say that all we americans are taught is that we were always in the right" Honestly for the most part that's how our history is taught, and don't even get into this part, I fucking love my history. I did great through junior high and highschool on the history curriculum as well. There really isn't much taught where it's like oh fuck america was wrong in this. Other than the conquest of america, and the slaves/general racism, america has been right nearly all the time.
"and to not trust what they teach us because its lies, you come off as "still going through the rebellious phase". that is as one sided and ignorant as saying that we should trust anything and everything our teachers or govt teaches us. "
Saying that not everything they teach you is 100% accurate is much different then saying everything they teach you is lies.
"no one is disputing the facts, we are simply arguing the morality of dropping the bomb."
You were talking about how saving 1 american life is worth killing a ridiculous amount of "enemy" civilians. That's passing the point of morality of the bomb drop and getting into complete ridiculousness.
" in my case i believe that the bomb was the best end to the war that we as americans could have expected."
Exactly, they deserved it anyway. They killed over a thousand people at a military base in a war, so we obviously had to kill 1/4 million to end it proper. What other solution could possibly make sense. And yes that was fucking sardonic.
