Definitely not stealing this idea from [tag=224147]@Young_patty[/tag] . Haven’t seen this thread been made yet for this year so if it’s already out there mods please delete. Call out what you think will rise to the top… tricks, riders, clothing choices, etc.

I think Gilson is gonna continue to lose its negative reputation of being “cringe” on here

Hate to say it but I think you’re gonna see more people doing Instagram street mini-cuts with the evident rise of street skiing

peak of wide pants

rise of homemade jackets, just like there’s a rise of homemade pants

I think there's generally a rise in trying to have your own unique gear that the regular crowd doesn't have such as skis from smaller companies or homemade clothing
 
- Fleece hats drop in popularity

- Harlaut pants become the most common on the mtn
 
- Misfit skis becomes the new gilson

- Colorado stops being as lame

- Large influx of amateur street content
 
Arsenic will continue to be bigger than ever

more kooks will be in the streets (including myself)

More kids will not know what HG skis is

gram content becomes even more prevelant, potentially even more cringy tik tok audios on reels

I feel like ns meme threads had a culture 20 or 3 years ago where only kids with hella good style and tricks were posting them and now there are just a bunch of kids posting them that can barely hit a rail. It’s kind of disappointing to see. I get it, it’s a dying ski website and at the end of the day a thread is a thread but it’s just annoying to see. ns been killing it recently. Obviously not on them at all. I think they’re keeping it real and dominating right now.

you’re gonna see a lot more kids just doing acid drops off shit In street cuts and make it their personality just because zoot space guys do it and IMO it looks kinda dumb to have multiple, unless it’s some massive ass drop or if it’s a super unique piece of architecture. Doesn’t take a whole lot of skill just balls.

more and more kids will cop HVXs and use them while having no idea to frame their fisheye shots or properly use camera settings AKA EXPOSURE and just point and shoot the thing.

-Euro guys are going to continue to separate themselves from everyone else, they’re progressing at an unfair rate and it’s extremely exciting to watch

-Color Pop, I think with way more people getting into sewing and making their own gear, I think it’s likely we’ll see a boost in color that we didn’t have the option of before

-lastly, I hate to say it but goggles over, dudes like Sam lobinsky and durham Jones make it look pretty fire and I wouldn’t be surprised if more people hop on it.
 
Dude this is a whack take. I don’t care if my favorite skiers are funny and I don’t care if the funny kids are good skiers. It’s all about a mutual love for the sport.

YAY more people looking like absolute inbreds!! Personally fucking hate gogs over. Only one who can really pull it off is BMack, DJ and Sam can too I guess but it will always look sus.

Tik-Tok will infiltrate street skiing and "niche core brands". Threads will appear of people shitting on kids for making dorky Tik-Toks of them hitting spots or wearing Arsenic. NS will have an identity crisis on whether or not to gate keep street skiing.
 
Why do people care how they look so much? I was at trollhougens rail jam it was like 65 degrees and people were in there full winter gear, like WHY if it's warm enough I just wear Jeans to ski I'm not gonna sweat in my pants just to "look good" because 90% of the time I look shit skiing anyway. You don't need 300$ of pants to have fun out there I have a free coat some pants from when dad was in college and some 50$ atomic boots and I'm having a great time
 
This is less of a prediction and more of a hope, but social media, especially Instagram and tiktok will hopefully become less and less relevant to skiing.
