22/23 gear hype!

5-10 years ago people were bitching about them not making enough eclectic color ways like these, 5-10 years from now people will be asking for them to bring these color ways back

Fully agree but the Rasta is like 14 years too late to be cool lol. If these came out back then they’d be sought after

am i the only one who thinks that the new pivot colors are kinda offputting?

Everyone said that about the current color this year, and yet they’re still selling out.

Eclectic =/= good. The heelpiece doesn't look bad, but the toe is awful.

eternally confused how people like camo

for me i think it has to do with being colorblind but it is hangs down my favorite colorway for anything especially for skiing.

Why they not simply have Black and White as standard ??

does anyone know what marker Jester Pro coming next season ??

Thanks

The jester pro will come in the tan/camo colorway as well as the blue/yellow if this year and the jester will still be the black and grey.

Curious as to which Armadas you were on?

I’m on my 2nd pair of Armadas in the past 4 seasons, and the base durability between the two are night and day.

The first were arv 96tis which had a solid black diecut base (except at the tip and tails) which got dinged up and gouged since day 1. No park/jibbing either, just look at the base wrong and you’d get a dinger. Pretty disappointing that this was part of their more expensive zero line. Sold and moved on from them mostly due to not using them as much as I’d hoped.

Currently have 4 days on my ‘22 arv 106s. Not a diecut base as these have graphics on them (silk screen base?) but it’s supposedly the same s7. Whatever the case, 106 bases seem to be holding up wayyy better than the 96tis did in their first 4 days.

I have zero interest in Armadas outside of their 106s and whitewalkers, but def avoiding their solid black s7 bases in the future.

love those dope animal graphics. simple black ones are dope too. armada is temporarily dead to me since my last skis' bases were so lame (please don't confuse me with that nazi guy on here) but their graphics and branding are still so fire

Sorry my post was vague. No complaints about durability. But I've had armadas and specifically ARVs off and on for years and years and never had an issue with the bases, but recently I got arv 96 TIs which are supposed to be a premium version of the ARVs, but they have slower bases. I forget what they call what but I'm positive they downgraded the bases on this and that's weak Line-style shit on a premium ski I've had the "normal" versions of for years

Nice job saving $20 armada ?, you lost a long-time customer for now

The zero line with die cut sintered bases are fast, they just require more wax more often.

My old edollos were fast without wax all the time. rarely, if ever.

This!! The zero line bases have been slow and not as strong since the beginning! Why do you think the whitewalker has a totally different base this year then last year. It’s dope having the die cut but it only looks cool. It has no practical application. I hope to god the bases on the zero skis going forward are not the diecut.

I got a pair of JJ's years back. The grind was so deep, it made them slow.

I broke them down with a steel scraper a few times, and then, to this day, they haul the mail.

A good fast base usually requires much work, and knowledge of what makes a fast base in a given condition.

Once you know, you do the work.

that’s cool bc skiing style right now could afford to go back about 14 years

Anyone know if there will be any new lengths for the new m-free 108?

Please make a 186 [tag=89101]@DYNASTAR_LANGE[/tag]

I Demo'd a 180 and a 192 for kicks and they both ripped but a 186 would be so prime on that ski.

I agree, 186 would be prime. 182 was super fun but short and the 192 was just a bit long for my liking

Actually a huge fan of the graphics. K2 has a solid lineup; Mindbenders charge hard

the new 108 is glorious as well. They tweaked it just a bit to make it more playful while still railing. Very big fan, felt like a declivity 108.

excited to see how the unleashed series gets along

depends on if they fail marketing them like they did with the soul riders. So far not digging the usual nordica dad graphics.

Who cares? Nordica is good stuff. Good bases!

You underestimate the power of ski graphics for sell through, especially in my shop. If a ski is marketed as freestyle, it usually (I say usually as some skis break the barrier due to their hype) has to have good graphics to back it up.

Sadly, that is the truth!

At some point in most peoples lives, they will think more about performance, and construction, than the looks of a top sheet.

I hear ya trust me. haha I did like how the unleashed skied though when I demo'd it, really a great freestyle oriented ski that can charge. The only thing I'm going to be interested to see is if it skis too similarly to the enforcer since it's not exactly that soft and playful. The big mtn crowd might still just gravitate toward an enforcer and not sure the pure park crowd will like them. Time will tell, and same again with how marketing will do with it.
