2013-2014 gear

Sold. I rode the alpha 2s for a few seasons and i love those skis i just wish they were more playful. I met still try and demo the aldente's though just to see if theyre secretly amazing

But what most people don't realize is that with a true sintered base you need to be waxing it every week for it to make a difference, which is something that 80% of people don't do. So if you don't do that what you end up having is a ski base that is less durable and that almost performs worse than a extruded base.

Armada's line is fairly meh, a bit disappointing overall. The skis generally, look wise look absolutely horrible IMO. However, a few things caught my eye here and there. From the sounds of the Halo 2, it sounds like a more stable version of the original. Have to try out a pair sometime. On the outwerwear side of things, too much camo IMO, but at least its a unique print. The scout jacket is pretty sick, and I'll probably be picking up the Savage underlayer!

Ok I have punisher jibs from 2011. Do you have any idea of how the stiffness compares to them? If not its fine, but the presters seem so much better just from you saying that. Also, did YOU enjoy the Filthy Riches or Presters better? Do you tend to like rockered park skis better or not rockered?

shirt??

not really sure on the comparison to the punjibs. but I can say that I usually like a more traditional cambered park ski but the filthy's ski'd longer than I thought they would. I guess I liked the slightly more stable ride of the prester, but the filthy has a really fun swing weight and flex pattern for a stiffer park ski.

saying alpha 2 do you mean the halos? and yeah im 100% buying next years halos! i'm pumped to get them.. everyone says there amazing and i'm happy they made it wider and more playful! and if i dont get the halos im really looking into the new moment jibs.. but my eye is on the halo 2 because of what Kim Boberg said and my friend... they sound stoked and happy with the ski!

moments new ski that replaced the jib now its the frankinski and it look so sick!

and next years moment vice

My understanding is that the edges are put in the sidewall instead of the base correct? If that is the case how does that improve durability? Wouldn't that mean you could rip out sidewall along with your edge?

oh how amazing and creative, I bet TJ put alot of effort in designing these boots... hahaha what a joke, an all black boot as a "pro model"... put a name on it, sell it... same as this years HH "Pro Model Jacket"

hahahahha wtf, seriousely...

you actually have no idea what he did to this boot to make it what it is.

for example the liner has a more supportive backing than "the ace" boot. but what would you know from a picture? don't talk shit unless you actually know what you're talking about.

countersunk edge and sidewall. thats what it said on the picture so i dont know what countersunk means but idk if the edge is in the sidewall... i think its still in the base but i dont know for sure i wanna know more information about it becuase im really interested in the ski for next year

You're a good example about what's wrong with this thread and a majority of other things when it comes to talking about new gear.

You see a boot, it's not flashy or anything, so you just assume it's lame when you have no idea about the tech specs or what went into the boot to make it amazing.

Where as Full Tilt can release a black and yellow (Wu themed) "Pro Model" boot, which brings nothing new to Full Tilt, and you kids just drool over it.

Fucking hell.

All anyone cares about in this thread is graphics and colour.

SIA (photos) did just the same. No specs.

The videos were helpful when it came to learning new stuff.

Agreed on all counts. Most kids here have no concept of how hard Nordica is killing it in all aspects right now.

Probably means that the core and sidewall has been 'rabbeted' or recessed so that the bottom of the edge teeth sit flush with the core and then the base will fit better. Pretty wordy but basically the base won't have to bridge a gap. That's just my guess as to what moment means by 'countersunk sidewall' and if that's what it actually is, it isn't even remotely close to being a new or special technology or construction design.

But if its something different, I'm intredasted...

The STH2 WTR? Just a driver toe and a guardian heel, primarily to provide a wider and more stable mount for fatter skis. I posted a pic in here a while back but don't want to dig that far back.

yeah im really interested in that ski for next year... thats my ski for next year as of now but i wanna learn more about it with the new things they said about it... hopefully the "countersunk sidewall" is something great and it helps durabilty or something like that or smoother rail sliding like they said

From the sound of that, it just sounds like the edge, sidewall and base are all very close together and solid, which sounds nice but I dunno if it deserves the title of "frankenski" Well now my main intrest is in the line future spin, I would love them center mounted as my dedicated park ski.

The new bindings are great, there is the STH 13 and the STH 16 for next season. The looks are very retro, but clicking into them feels good. Im not sure about the looks but who cares what they look like, when they work as well as they do.

Be aware though it uses a different hole pattern to the old STH's so you cant just mount them in the old holes unfortunately.

Im lookin to see if i can snag a pair of this years nordicas el pacos, and was wondering if its worth waiting for next years bindings from salomon/atomic or even head/tyrolia before i regret buying this years

and if anyones ridden the el pacos how stable are they at high speed?

nothing this upcoming year but I think they are going to be replacing it with the "nightmahre.' I've seen Collin collins and pep fujas riding some prototypes on instagram and they look really fat.

Yeh I heard something about it being replaced by Mahre's pro model the Nightmahre. I imagine it's probably going to be stiffer than the bents as most companies are moving away from floppy pow planks. I also heard that the Petitor is going to be widest ski in their line, so I'm not sure what the dimensions on the Nightmahre are going to be. All of these are just rumours so it's hard to say what the Nightmahre is going to deliver.

bitch please don't be a bitch.

as you said, it's just a fucking picture. if you want people to know more about it, then also post something about the boot.

of course they may put a lot of effort into it, but you don't see much form an all black boot.

and I'm not a fucking kid lol. you make me sound like a 12 years old kid pretending to find Wu awesome and hiding behind a bdog jacket haha...

thing is: I apparently do like both Wu and B&E, but I'm not buying into every shit they put out or putting a Wu sticker on my helmet lol

I just wear whatever feels comfortable to me and looks good and most importantly don't give shits and just enjoy skiing when I'm skiing instead of having to show everyone how awesome I find Wu or whatever...

El ray looks sooooo so sick!!! One of the better graphics in there next years line as the ARVti looks like shit in my opinion

wow, kid. you're little rant had nothing to do with what he and I said.

you have no fucking clue what you're talking about, just stop. if you don't see much from the boot from a picture in the first place then why even comment.

you're a fucking moron. jesus....
