2013-2014 gear

They are a touch wider underfoot and not as wide in the tip and tail. They also aren't symmetrical. They do look pretty similar from the rocker profile though. The two's look pretty sweet (saw some up on Sunshine mounted up with Pivot 18's (so much orange!) and in a shop in Banff this past weekend)

194 - 146/124/138 (Two) vs. 194 - 151/122/151 (New Life)

Does away with the touring pin, and has built in climbing bars.

The New Life's still have the three stage rocker, but it's not nearly as dramatic as the One Life's. It also has more tip rise which makes the three stage rocker appear more gradual. I think the closest ski I've been able to compare the New Life's to are the old, narrower Hellbent's, but a whole heck of a lot stiffer.

I know this might be quite 14ish of me to say, i gotta admit tom wallisch's boot is fucking sick. As well as the B and E boot.

Not sure how I feel yet about the retro look to the classic. Maybe kinda gayperish looking due to how retro it looks.

Also, with more beta on k2. The new touring boots (yes, k2 is now making boots) are so sick. They are light, tech binding compatible and have some really cool technology. I'm pretty psyched to see them on the mountain and hopefully get my hands on a pair

gonna call Eira as the worst stuff at the snow. So bland and boring.......i think they are becoming the new Spyder.

any armada stuff, anyone?

except things I already know like dollos, thalls, halos, the gloves and that there is a lot of camo? like, any detailed stuff, goretex stuff, fievels?

Next year's Anon M2 goggle, it's being marketed to skier also. The product video is a little strange, but here you go anyway.

@1:13 The new Moment Ghost Train, for those of you who don't want to watch, it's a fully rockered, more stable Ghost Chant. Supposedly taking the stability of the Night Train and the loose feel of Ghost Chant.

The rest of the video is a bit disappointing, revealing little about any other products.

ah so kind.

You may not like to hide... but others do.

Thought about going back, but in my hungover slumber I sat down at my friends booth, their leather couch was so comfy I sat from 10 am to 4:30 pm...

Perhaps tomorrow.

As far as Armada goes. They are careful of where their product images and info go. Makes people curious. Makes the buyer meetings feel a little more exclusive. Keeps you guys amped and wanting to see more. Pretty smart actually. I can say the line is pretty beautiful, skis are pretty much the same, I didn't notice anything new in the line up, but I could be entirely wrong, I 5 drinks deep by the time I got to check things out. I will say there is a jacket/snow pant combination that I have been wanting for years and waiting for someone to do. They did it. Will purchase. And... the TSTw + ARVw are both amazing skis but have damn sexy top sheets. (only relevant if you are a girl).

After all that, I predict the Caylor getting some amazing reviews. Whoever said about hanging a pair on the wall, I'm pretty sure they were my favorite graphics of the show.

Also to note. Kastle keeps the same style, but they got a bit more rad and a bit more colorful and I'm all about it.

Few new boots from atomic for next year. Kids will love the new park boot. Good stuff happening there.

Overall trends = camo, native american prints, and electric blue is back for round 2. A lot of women's stuff was muted and the tech stuff getting longer cuts. A lot of european companies going bigger than usual (Bergans was impressive). Backcountry was a lot more obvious this year. Only saw one anti ski display in the show. I noticed a lot more brands with scantily clad girls walking around. Bula knew what was up... although Bula had good taste in women, now so sure about some of the brands I saw.

The trend of taking a bunch of images and throwing them on a pair of skis and calling it design... gone for the most part.

Also noticed more pastels coming back, not enough to call it a trend, maybe 14/15.

And so you know, one lovely snowboard brand had a private showing room in which was a speak easy. You sit down and two topless women come and show you their bindings. I didn't get the experience and I heard it was difficult to get an appointment. Impressive sales tactic there.

Overall, I'm more stoked on outerwear and the ski offerings next year than this year. I was pretty let down this year... at least in the outerwear world.
