Pollard did, the EP Pro was flat underfoot, noodle soft and massively rockered. It was tons of fun, not to everyones taste but it had it's fans.
As to why the Opus is rocker/camber/rocker... it was designed to be more versatile that is clear. Pollard skis more big lines now etc that is a reason for sure, mixed camber is better for that. I also suspect that the EP Pro was being outsold by skis like the Bentchetler and the JJ by a massive amount, so I would suggest there was some pressure for Line/Pollard to come out with a similar ski. A lot more people want a versatile ski than a ski that really has a single purpose, mini-golfing and skiing switch in pow. There is no question at all that the original EP was better for that single task than the Opus or any similar ski. It's a limited market and that's why flat skis are becoming rare. But in my opinion and clearly Blindside's they have a place in the market for the skier that just wants to play. That may not be you or or any other detractors. Not even me currently but injuries are the reason I'm on rocker/camber/rocker not because i prefer it. I'd rather ski a flat ski. Nobody is wrong in this situation, they just want different things.
