2013/2014 Armada Gear thoughts

the wider platform has made them considerably less agile then current and past years, i feel they've moved the series to more of an all mountain ski/massive booter ski rather than your every day super quick and responsive park ski that it is now. my 2 cents after being on alphas for 3 years and demoing next years.

the plus side to next years is the stability and ability to blow through any type of snow they may encounter.

For me I can only afford one ski and I would like something a little wider than normal for those days of fresh but spend quite a bit of time in the park would you suggest I look at a different ski?

What do you mean by upgrade? If you mean to te pro team, I think armada has that reserved for people who have been there from the start/have contributed a lot to the company

Not really liking their outerwear offering for next year, it might grow on me though.

As usual, I don't think they've reallly hit the mark with their pow/big mountain/freeride skis. I'd really like to see the return of more powerful, stiffer skis from them like the ANT.

ill be getting this shit i hope

Im in need of new pants and those dollo pants are sickest ive ever seen, along with the other accessories im stoked on their new line

I have a feeling that everything will be way more expensive, especially the redesigned Alpha and Halo as well as the Al Dente. Not sure if I like the new specs on the Alpha and Halo...

just wait til you try the ARVTi. you'll completely retract your statement (which I don't know why you'd make anyway if you haven't tried anything haha)

I think that the el Dante is definitely going to replace the arv right now and it is going to become more of a powder ski, overall it looks like armadas under foot has increased on all skis.

They did change the arv to the ARVti which is basically the same just with a wider under foot. The closet that you will get to this years arv will be the el dente which is basically the same as the arv but softer and with a tip rocker.

I don't really like any of the outerwear. It's not bad, just I'm not going to buy it. The accessories/hoodies/base layers all look pretty good.

Also their women's line looks really good. Almost better than the men's outerwear IMO

not happy at all with what they did with the halo, i demoed them and they where a shadow of what they used to be my advice is to try to find some of last years.

the al dente. is basically the arv's with henrik endorsing it further.. still a good ski imo, but gonna get way more hyped than deserved. not all that fond of the new outerwear but definatly a few things id enjoy!

My favorite ski was the Alpha, i have next years and already put 10 days on them out in Big Sky... Really sick ski, i peronally like how theyre wider than this years (i have this years too) they ride great in the park and also will ride great in trees, pow and the steeps... My least favorite was the Al Dente, it was like skiing on two planks of rubber bc they were so soft, so make sure you try them if you can before you purchase them

Did you have a chance to demo next years halo's? I was thinking about getting a pair for next year but not 100 percent sure yet. imo i personally like what they did with them and the top sheet is pretty cool.

Why does no one like the Halo 2's? Do you not like the looks or the ski itself? I think they look like they will perform good in the park and will be able to go out of the park on the days where there is a little bit of fresh snow.

I don't really like the mens outerwear either, everything is too bland. But I do like a lot of the sweatshirts and things, those are all pretty sick.

I think they killed it with womens softgoods though, that stuff is cool.

if your a 100% pure park rider the halo 2's are a little worse off than the current halos. if your into some all mountain cruising from time to time along with some pow and chunder mixed in, the halo 2/alpha x will be much better suited than current year.

Just a matter of what/how you ski.

el dantes are crazy soft as well, amazing fun if your into that kinda stuff. low swing weight for a ski that wide and got some crazy interesting pop...in a good way.

They aren't even remotely going to ski the same. The ti has titanium in it, thinner edges(durability on rails), and has rocker. I know the arv gets rocker on its on very quickly but I'm not a fan of rocker in the park at all. Hoping the al dente is pretty good cause I'm pretty sure that's what I'm getting for warranty of my arv's.

Not necesarily bub. It has a lighter swing weight due to the addition of the AR50 half cap half sidewall design, the ski is slightly wider, and the nose rocker is also a large difference from full camber. They have a much softer flex than the ARV. It's more or less completely redesigned.

"the al dente. is basically the arv's with henrik endorsing it further"

No you really didn't. Wanna fucking fight you piece of shit?
