2013/2014 Armada Gear thoughts

ARV SUCKED ASS!! AL DENTE WILL SUCK SLIGHTLY LESS ASS!! MEET ME AT THE DQ BY MY SCHOOL!! I'LL POUND YOUR ASS SO HARD!!

Not trying to hate or anything, but why do so many people get a massive boner for Armada? There's other companies that are just as sick or even more so... But like I said, not trying to hate, just curious.

Armada has coninued to put out solid, reliable, good skis/outerwear. I personally love armada, I think they are very for the ski comunity, and really have done a lot. But as I said, awesome product... Not just over rated/trendy

so stoked. but just thinking about how much stuff i need to buy for next season is terrifying haha. Armada's 13/14 stuff is the first time i've actually like girls outerwear.

Yeah I was looking at this years prices and basing it off that, I have 1000 bucks in ski gear I need for next year, not including binding.

Really impressed with thier outerwear.

Although, I'll most likely only be picking up a pair of those telescopic graphite poles (Just what I want).

Indeed I did. They were a nice ski but it's not a ski that you will want as an everyday/all mtn/ park ski. If that's what you want go with the AlphaX. Deffinatly a better choice bc they rip on groomers as well in the park.

Armada just leaves some* of their skis the same, although they know some* of them need some improvements. Changing the topsheets is there main focus, which sucks. Do they even have an R&D (research and design) or equivalent branch in the company? Why do most of their skis stay the same for so long, when reputable reviewers talk about how they suck for charging and crud, Or is it that they just like to keep all their skis soft and super super playful.

* TST and Norwalk need to be 10-20% stiffer to be better built for their purposes as All/Big mountain skis. Why they leave them so soft is beyond me. All their other skis are soft, why can't they make these two with a little bit of extra beef built in, not much, just a bit for a little charging and crud. C'mon Armada.

^ I made a comment earlier in this thread about how I wished Armada would make stiffer, more powerful big mountain/powder skis like the OG ANT. Aparently the new ARVti will change my mind, can't want to try a pair next season if thats the case.

This is like the only year that armada has really changed how the skis perform, but not relating to how they perform the top sheets are really sick this year.

How do you hate them. These past years all they have been is like squares and lines with lots of color. Except for like 1 or 2.

Precisely. I have tried to like Amrada's, but they all feel bitchmade.

They also need to measure their ski's true to length. When I put a 190 magic J next to a ski I KNOW to be measured tru to length, and it ends up being 3 inches shorter, then we have an issue.

Also thicker edges, and bases.

Is Line the only other bigger company who has the balls to spend a little more on this shit?

Yeah but when you go to the store and look at the ski there shouldnt be a problem with size because you should have a good idea to what size is good for you. Plus it also depends on if the ski has a rocker on it.

Does anyone know how much the al dente's are going to be selling for? Seems like a really fun wide jib ski, and at a 188 it fits tall people like me well. Also does anyone know if armadas S7 base is sintered? I think it's sintered 2000 but Im not really sure.

Since the el dentes are a henrik harlaut pro model they will probably be in the price rang from 650-750. I am just guessing.

190 is the biggest size Armada makes, I believe. If it isn't even a true 190, more like a 185 after pressing, etc.. then they should definately make something bigger. It's not as if he doesn't know what size he needs. Session is one of the greatest contributors to gear talk, that's something I've noticed over the years. He seems to know his stuff.

I highly doubt a park ski is in that range, there's no market for someone that's willing to spend that much money on something they'll thrash on rails and jumps everyday.

If anything; $400-500

I dont think that they will have a problem going that high with the cost of the ski, this years Alpha 1's are 650 and you look at the salomon suspect and they are over 700. They will have no problem going to 700.

I got an order form and catalog from them at SIA. Halo 2 is $550, so slightly more than $525 normal Halo. THalls went down to $525 though, compared to $550 before.

I don't. Cuz then he would have to be a future spinning fuck. Don't change the topic on the thread tho you little bitch you wanna fucking fight ill fuck you up you fuck

These are pretty much my feelings on them too, Personally I will always look at ON3P for that sort of ski or the Bent Chetler which ticks all the boxes the bigger Armadas dont, I have a feeling they have to keep the competition from Atomics lines down due to the factory share I doubt Atomic would want to loose on sales of the Chetler and Automatic etc.

If they Did a 193 Norwalk with some carbon in it and full sidewall it would be perfect I dont see the need for using Atomics step down sidewall on a ski you wont be rotating on.

I've never heard of a Dipset member being killed in a drive-by shooting...

I agree with previous posts, fuck the wider platform on the halo. Looks like Im gonna have to find a pair of last years alpha 1s before everyone buys them up.
