Hey NS,
Coming up in about 2 weeks will be this years Tour de France. I for one am truly excited to see this years tour, and I was wondering who else on NS is gonna watch/care about it.
Personally after last years bs win by contador (see video):i am hoping that schleck can take down contador this year or that contador is knocked out of the tour due to his own doping scandal.
Also, heres another vid that gets me pumped for the tour (even though its a year old and that it only has small cycling clips and is most likely a repost):
For anyone who is not an avid cycling fan, id recommend watching this year's tour on VERSUS because its going to be insane this year, especially the last two stages before the champs elysees being Alpe d'huez and the time trial. Heres an epic alpe d'huez vid:
so ns, any predictions/thoughts on le tour this year?
 
I'v ridden Contadors winning bike /claim. But I am very very excited for this years tour. Andy Sucked in the first stages of the Swiss, but I didn't catch the last couple. Frank Schlek was killing it as far as I could see. All I know is that it's going to be interesting. I hope levi leipheimer wins it, just because he is on the S-works!
 
I hate cunt-ador.

I am hoping for the revenge of schleck this year too. Also cheering for Ryder Hjesdal.Go Canada!

 
Definitely hoping the Schlecks and rider have a good tour. If Contador wins after the showing he had in the giro then he's just not human.
 
He's on trek now so I don't care, and so are gay boys Schlek brothers. Specialized is going to get the victory with HTC Highroad.
 
nah, if it's specialized it's gonna be saxo-bank fo sho.

i want to cheer for the schlecks, but they're riding on treks, and i can't support that, so go contador i guess. if he can repeat his crazyness from the giro, he's got it, but it's going to be impressive if he pulls it off.
 
Hahah not really, I just prefer Specialized. And they Schlek brothers are gay for each other. I am a cynical person.
 
Ehhhhhh I don't know man. But I guess we can both agree that they are both sick.

As much as I hope to see Andy beat Alberto, it's probably not going to happen. I've been watching Schleck in the California and Swiss, and the guy seems like he's just happy to be there, he rarely makes any breaks compared to Contador who seems to take off every time there's an uphill (if you watched the Giro you'd know).

Hopes/Predictions:

Yellow: Andy Schleck/Alberto Contador

Green: Thor Hushovd/Mark Cavendish

White: Roman Kreuziger/Robert Gesink

Polka Dot: Jerome Pineau/Jurgen Van Den Broeck

Team: Garmin-Cervelo/Leopard Trek
 
Oh we are posting TT bikes? Because the Venge is their race bike, see to the untrained eye you would think that is their TT bike. Now for TT....

I was well aware it wasn't a TT bike. However that one is definitely sexier than the madone 6.9. However which performs better?
 
I don't really like Pinarello's very much, I don't like the asymmetrical feel of them. I have a co-worker that is fast as fuck and he love's his. So to each their own. Put a good rider on any bike and they will be fast as balls.

 
Yeah I am starting to this year. I work at a bike shop, so I picked up a tarmac for real cheap and I love it. And yes I am gay for specialized haha. I just try to keep up with my friend who races for Pinarello.
 
Well like I said I have the Tarmac and I am using my friends Giant TCR. And I have been messing around on our shops StumpJumper, and that thing is sooo sweet. But I live in Michigan so the mtn bike scene isn't the biggest.
 
Rooting for Schleck as well. But lets be honest, at this point they are all doping, its just a matter of when they get caught...
 
I'm sad I missed the start of this thread. With a dad obsessed with cycling (a garage full of bikes that cost more than my life) the Tour is like the definition of summer for me. Love the commentators voices, strategy and whatnot. Overall excited for the Schlecks, especially Andy who was cheated out of his rightful title last year! Stoked to see Evans take some stages, and Hesjedal rep for Canada!! Ahhhhhh. All those names I'm used to hearing.
 
ya that makes sense for the brits and also because HTC is full of good sprinters. also tejay van garderen should be fun to watch this tour, possible white jersey winner?
