I witnessed it myself. I was questioned by the police last night to make sure fowl play was not involved.
The guy was a snowboarder, hit a jump outside of his ability level, went belly up and landed on his neck which resulted in him breaking it. I waited with him until ski patrol came and at that time he was still unconscious. Died this morning from head injuries. The resort had nothing to do with it, a lot of people seem to be blaming Ski-Lakeridge for the incident but it was purely the riders fault. The jump was perfectly fine, the snow was soft, it was just a fluke accident.
My condolences go out to his family, I'm sure they are devastated by this incident.
