#1 Ranked Slopestyle Skier in World left out of Freeskier SOTY voting.

I don't know about you guys but Nick Geopper is totally rad. Being a good skier I think is being defined as someone who has a passion for the sport as well as being killer on the hill. It's not defined by how many gold medals you win, or how many edits you make; let alone how many movies youre in.

the thing that worries me most here is that some of you dont know that skier of the year has never had much to do with comps. The most impressive thing about goepper isn't that he has the most comp points, it's that he can do so much sick park shit on any normal day.

Just a throwback here from Xgames Tignes 2013 qualifiers. Pretty amazing how he held onto that landing.

Have you ever said anything negative about an american skier, or yet anything positive about anyone outside of the great empire of united states? your bias is sickening.

Mary supports everyone, she was in the Roz thread defending her too. Don't pick on the easy targets, I know you're better than that.

As for this thread, I do not care for Goepper or SOTY.

Mary O supports Henrik, Woodsy, Roz, Jossi and a number of other non-USA skiers. She's a huge fan of the sport. Can't believe she's getting criticized for being positive!

I think you need to take a step back and realize that you're on newschoolers. this shocked attitude you keep portraying whenever anyone says anything negative is mildly amusing.

Everyone has a right to say whatever they want, but saying things that are blatantly untrue is gonna get a person called out. Anyone who thinks Mary O only supports American skiers has not been paying attention.

I mean, do I think he deserved SOTY? Eh, maybe. He's obviously one of the best if he's on the olympic team. But the posters do have a point. All he did is rip through the slope courses and he impressed the judges. There is so much more to skiing than impressing judges. So he should've been included in the list, but I don't think he should have, nor do I really think he would have, won the SOTY award.

Oh my gosh you have no idea how much I admire all of them! I pretty much support freestyle skiers across the globe, and some of my favorite riders are from other countries. If I have a bias, its that I prefer to follow park, pipe and urban skiers as apposed to big mountain riders. Not that one discipline is better than another, it's just my personal preference. I have one other bias however, and we all know who that is.

Congrats to all the guys who advanced to round 2. Half the guys I picked made it. ( I'm not telling who advanced since you may want to be surprised) and good luck to all the ladies in this weeks vote.

This is actually the best response that could ever have been posted. Please pull a bunch of this material out if you get interviewed in Sochi. Please.

How the hell did lisa zimmerman get left out of the womens soty? first female to actually double, and hold grabs on spins?? Is it cause she has no sponsors?

She's on Red bull...

Lisa is kind of weird. She doesn't have the big comp results even though I think she one the comp at nine queens and she doesn't have a film part. She is the only girl with a dub but no one knows about her because she doesn't beat comps or have a video part.

Kelly is the in PVS movies but I don't know how big her part is and I haven't seen it. That's a really big crew out of France.

I would have cut bowman and replaced her with either Lisa or Lexi.

Guys, the answer here is clear to me. I can't believe nobody else sees it. Goepper didn't get nominated because his ski clothes fit too well.

That's like saying clayton needs to do something other than urban or sage has to do something besides backcountry... They are all in SOTY and have each focused in on their own favorite parts of skiing just like Goepper... All three are in different areas, doing really really well.

Would have liked to have been able to vote for Alexi Micinski on the women's side. I've seen her ski & she absolutely slays. She had just been skiing with a bunch of Boise guys for a few years on the ISSA team, then finally got a look from Ben Verge, got invited to a national camp & made the US rookie team. She's gutsy, too.

I'd vote for him. He does put out some of the dopest edits, and you have to admit it'd be a good laugh to see him there.

No. It has to do with film skiing vs. comp skiing. It has nothing to do with urban vs. big mountain. Comp skiing isn't all season, that's why you see a lot of comp guys put out film segments as well. That's why I think less emphasis should be put on comp skiing. What can you do on 4 jumps and three rails in a best of three run format seven times a season vs. what can you do in one whole season season in front of a camera. When there are less rules and more time, you really get to separate the men from the boys.

i thought zac's original song sucked but my god that was bad, not to mention re-editing top rated videos is pretty wack to begin with
