Worse, name, ever.

I think it's ridiculous when people start judging skis they have never ridden. When someone demo's them, then I will be happy to see the thread. Until then, use the freaking searchbar!

The Afterbang is another first in LINE’s long history of them. This ski has been quietly under development for four years. The level of secrecy is almost astonishing. Athletes signed confidentiality agreements. Even those on the inside knew little about the ski. Engineers went so far as to hand paint the sidewalls of the early prototypes so they would look more like normal Invaders, Chronics, or Anthems.

Every other ski on the market has a core that is laid up vertically. The Afterbang is horizontal seven ply maple like a skate deck. The deck construction results in an very customizable flex pattern. LINE is able to move the butter zone right in front of the binding, easing butters and presses. This ski is so much fun in the park. Secondly, durability is increased exponentially. The engineers have a field day testing this ski in the lab. They slap it on flat metal in the freezer, slap it against rails, purposely chip it, soak it in water, freeze it, then try to break it. The Afterbang outperformed every other ski in these tests. It’s like a cockroach: tough.

if what they are saying is that the base is convexed like a skateboards, i dont knwo what to say. i thought of that like 4 years ago but thought it would never work.

i love line.

Ive skied em and they are realllllyyyy dope, feel like the invader but since they are 88 underfoot they are wayyy more solid

have a little fun, skiing isn't supposed to be the most serious thing in the world. i think the name of this ski emphasizes that.

im stoked to hear reviews about them cause they sound really progressive for the sport and just strait out sick! i just hate how there not gonna be as cheap as the invaders.

it wouldnt let me reply to you emopoppins. so im posting it right here

you bring out some very good points. a lot of people dont understand

what this ski is doing and how long it took to develop such a ski.

everybody should read this post if there gonna try hating on this new

ski.

115/88/115 so a little wider then the invader, and the butter zones are closer to the bindings. thats what i have read. not sure about sizes or how much they weight, but i would guess that they are lighter since they use less wood/plasitc to make...

Man, had I known i probably these over disorderlys, for east coast these are probably gonna be so good. And it seems like they would work well with the tricks i like to do. I want to demo these so bad.

they should be sick, definetely a new thing i hope the design holds up good and helps the future of skis. only thing I dont like is the graphics to weird for me.

cant wait till we get some vids on them.

I can't wait for me setup next year. My shop has last year's Bents for $450 and I'm going to get those pretty soon and I will definitely be on the Afterbangs. They look super sick and I like the colors. I'm not really a fan of the graphic (same as the bents) but they sound very nice. Any of Pollard's skis have such a sweet graphic though (Just wish they had an EP Pro in a shorter size).

Just wondering, i know this may be a noob question, but does the afterbang have no edges? Is it just wood like a skateboard or do they still have full metal wrap around edges? +K

Ok, for some reason i thought they had no edge... Then i thought a ski with no edge? what the fuck!

But now i think i have the park ski in mind for next year Haha

+K thanks man

its gonna be sick for nose presses and tail presses, the longer the butter zone (the closer the zone to the binding) the more surface area for sliding, more solid on rails and boxes. its gonna be sick for spins to presses. and landing jumps is gonna be affected in the same way, more of a area to land on, smooth into, solid steezy landings with

lots

and

lots

of

afterbang!

so methinks the name's appropriate. hate all you want.

yeah they have edges but they are all wood they have no plastic sidewalls. they are made like a skateboard with 7 layers of wood. they are suppose to be more of an urban ski they are super beefy. im going to a demo day today and i'm going to try them out.

Another question. Wouldnt the topsheet/sidewalls rot since their wood? Or did line make some crazy idea to somehow manage wood to not rot when wet....+K

NEVERMIND!!

Just watched NSTV and now i know what the deal is with the wood sidewalls,so i dont know about the rest of you but im gonna get the afterbang, no questions.

whats with the three different colors? like they arent different sizes because they were all the same height.

taking not taking things too seriously too seriously is apparently the new thing.

people try to hard to have fun.

afterbangs are dope, the idea is cool, but to be honest they dont ski particularly different from anthems, disappointingly.

They sound hella tight. But you know who knows, until people start skiing them all we have to respond to is hype. anyhow afterbang is not a bad name dont know why you dont like it. but yeah the topsheet is somewhat disapointing but its not that bad.

i can haz irony?

and why is he an idiot? is it because he didnt like how a ski performed? so you are going to criticize him based on that, while you have probably never rode them.

cool man, ("oyu" are the idiot)

ride like a skateboard....

break like a skateboard...

almost every skater I know has broken at least one board. Not many of the skiers I know have broken a ski.

hmmm

that's because when you skate you spend 80% of your time bailing and sending the board off some wild shit to fall hard on concrete. you don't treat your skis that way.
