Is this new crop of kids, like those that have joined in the last 6 months the worst you have ever seen?They're posts are either pointless or confusing and they can't read or spell.Any one agree?

haha I don't NS sucked balls for a while in like 05-06. I remember it was before I was a mod. I would come on like NS maybe once a week or something. So many noobs. There was a massive transition of many long-time users leaving and a lot of newer people posting primarily in the forums.
 
Hah yeah that was before we really had any content for people to read... I mean there was some, but it was pretty limited and few and far between.

Also, during winter of 2004/2005 Freeze magazine shut down, and the traffic on newschoolers DOUBLED. So that was a lot of growth to hit all at once.... 05/06 was likely the aftershock of that. :)

 
Since I became a mod this site has gotten way way better. And Ryno was made a mod at the same time, so I had to deal with that shit at the same time, yet I succeeded anyway. Gold medal? I think so.

For serious, it's better than it used to be. But in many ways not as good as it used to used to be.
 
Yea, this is my second account, but i've been here in 03, and there used to be so much hate. I stopped going on here for about a year since i was bullied so bad. Given i would have been 12, and the hate for 12 year olds is still around today haha.
 
alright, i guess i was wrong. clearly i wasnt around back in the good ol' days of NS but idk i guess i was just starting to get alittle annoyed lately cause it seem in every thread someone was asking really pointless questions or just spaming to get more posts
 
i was on here for like 3 years starting in like 04 but i lost my account info but i've witnessed all the brutal noobs and they're not as bad this yeari got grounded for like 3 weeks this summer and racked up like 2000 posts, it's kinda sad
 
I've been here since '02 and my strategy has always been if a thread looks like its gonna be retarded... I'm just not even gonna read it, and this works for me, you can avoid getting dragged into a lot of stupid drama this way.

But this year is definitely not the worst we have seen, its just the time of year more than anything. Give it a month so everyone has snow on the ground, and everyone will be way chiller and things will get back to normal. This time of year I actually spend a lot of time on tgr because everyone there is getting super pumped and posting early season tr's which in turn get me super pumped. On ns everyone is just super antsy and starting to get pissed that its not snowing(me included!).

Oh man I was a huge part of that shitshow in 05-06. The kids this year aren't bad whatsoever, they're probably the best group of noobs I've seen on NS ever.
 
i really miss that shit when i first joined in 2005.. had no idea what NS was about.. saw these legendary figures like lat, mommy, ATLANTASKI, dspin7X..

back when I would get so excited to see the NS radio on air sign at the top right corner, when the PPP was in full effect and everyone wanted in.. sasfilms was still around..
 
man every year this time it gets bad, right at the end of summer/beginning of season you get a shitton of noobs. half of em are gone by the end of season.
 
same dude, forgot when i joined, might have been 05. but i agree, good ol days were great. idk if its just me getting older or if some kids are really just getting overly annoying lately, with useless threads and posts that make me not even want to open up NSG anymore.

Lat, mommy, nantuket was funny but got old quick. eye ski naked (forgot what it was, but that hoe who flaunted herself alll the time) countless threads ragging on skibrdingbitch for being a pro hoe....
 
shit's not that bad. i think it was worse when i joined in 05...i found the site and got like maybe 100 posts and quit coming on for almost a year cause it was just stupid. then i came back after i remembered about it, got perma-banned and now here i sit. gotta love it. kids will always be retarded, fuck it.
 
although i have only been on ns for a little over a year, a lot of the new kids are pretty rediculous. Getting like 1000 posts in a month, thats more than eheath even.
 
remember the days of round top riders posting edits all the time before wallisch and stepp went big. those are the days that got me as in love with skiing as I am

i miss the old battles between anitaskis and tamtamchick. those were good times.
 
ns was ridic. for a long time after that happened. lots of shenanigans, and not the cheeky kind either. evil shenanigans.

i've been on here a while now, and the one thing i'm glad i don't run into on here anymore is tubgirl. that was the sort of thing you never really get out of your head, and it was as popular as the rick rolling was for a while.

luckily, bannings came swiftly for tubgirl posters, and "order" was soon restored.

True true. Although I don't see many/any hating on the olden days. It was the best. The sense of community was crazy, I can't even name all the awesome people I've met through this place one way or another; Pretty much all of whom I still keep in contact with or see at least once a year. The general dynamic was just so much different back in the early times. There were definitely haters back then but they were different and for the most part hilarious. Making NS radio shows was so much fun.
 
it is almost like two different sites sometimes, with as far as NS has come.

back in the day it was so much more laid back and everyone had a good sense of humor about burns and the such. the content left a lot to be desired, but we just had to find other ways to amuse ourselves. it was way rad.

now the content is incredible. just mind blowing sometimes. all the edits kids put up, all the interviews and industry scoops/support is so awesome to see.

i used to be really addicted to the site too, i would spend all day on it, in class, in my dorm, in the library, anywhere i was near a computro i was on the ns.

it's crazy to think that i have been on this site for half as long as some members have been alive, and there are a bunch of people who were on waaaaaay before me!
 
yea i started coming on here when my bro started on this site, february 2002, fuck my life i need to get a new one i wonder if theres a way you can see how much time you've spent on this site.
 
i've been here since 05, (as a member, i've been lurking since at least 03) but just post when i feel something is really worth a post

i remember all that crazy stuff from back in the day, i think one of the biggest was who would be the 100,000th member, and how just about everybody had an alias in an attempt to get the 100k member number.

I also remember back when you were able to ask a question, and get an answer fairly quickly and it would usually be a good one. Not people claiming first, telling their own stories, or saying shit like pee in her butt or whatever.

yeah, i started out as a guest in 05 and realize that NS has come a long way, good and bad... too many reasons to post. plus, i don't want to get started
 
I got this username in october cus I got a new email and stuff changed and details and stuff.

But counting my old one, I have been on the site since Jan 30th 2006. Yet I already have more posts with this name than my other one. It's prob cus I rarely went posted with my other name until this summer when I jumped from like 100 posts to almost 400 posts. Then I made this one and was on this site a ton. But I tried to be helpful and not just post whore.
 
well i geuss you can say its changed, time is defiently wasted. i'm almost at 2000 posts, which im stoked for
