07/08 Ski Picture Thread

Yea I know graphics don't mean that much but Armada has always been the total package for me. I have always loved how their skis performed and thier graphics and quality of skis has only been topnotch. The whole rest of their lineup looks sick but their most popular ski seems like it was rushed or something. I guess I will wait till I have seen them up close and can judge for sure. Also, I know Armada probably has a method to their madness but they have 2 cap skis in their line next year. I understand the El Ray is price point and The cap was used on ARG to supposedly reduce weight but I would be worried if more and more of their models became cap.
 
once again, what are you basing this on? all that you are saying is the ski is going to be "gay" because it has a "lame" graphic.. if you read the other threads of some kids who were able to use these skis early they said that the ar6 was so dope and loved it
 
I know it will be a great ski, I am saying it would be cool to have a great ski with graphics to back it, or at least less gaudy graphics if they are going to be uncool. Armada has done it in the past and they can do it again, that is all I am saying. Calm down dude. If they shred I will buy them regardless of if the graphics suck, I'm just looking for the total package and expect more from a company that has provided me with nothing but perfect skis in the past. Honestly the first time I saw them I thought they were Ar3s ya know?

But on a slightly different note and to change the subject a bit The ARG will have a race base next year from what I understand. Does neone know if the price is going to be increased or if there are any other changes besides the base?
 
if you read what he said armada makes great QUALITY skis he just doesnt think next years ar6 is a great graphic.

Exactly. Thank you. The Salomon comparison was a little overexaggerated but basically what I meant was in the late and mid 90s and into the early 00s I rode Salomon and they made a great ski that was absolutely bombproof. Then they started making that spaceframe monocoque crap construction skis and I fucking hated them. These early foam core skis such as the 1080 spaceframes and the pocket rocket absolutely saturated the market, and they were I felt not top of the line skis like I was used to from Salomon. IMO Salomon did it to save money. Pretty soon every single gaper on the hill had spaceframe 1080s or pocketrockets. Another example Salomon makes both the most awesome and some of the crappiest bindings on the market. They make the 916 and the Z series this year. WTF. The Zs are absolute shit and you can easily and obviously tell what Salomon did to cut the cost and increase profit on these things. THey have been out a year and already I think I see more of these on the feet of gapers than any other binding.

Salomon makes some good shit. Their boots rock, the 916s own, and their skis are starting to step up once again to the quality I remember, it just frustrates me when they make crap products and saturate the market with them.

Overall, what I was saying, is that at the rate Armada is growing I could totally see them starting to sell out make low end products saturating the market with them and before you know it every gaper on the hill has El Ray's on their feet. I don't like this and I don't wanna see it. This has happened to to many companies and not just in skiing.

he kind of looks like yes jus sat grinning on it, i know i wudnt jus calmly have my hands up in the air etc.
 
I've seen the Duke in action being skied by a buddy who is tougher on gear than anyone else I know...a bit more plastic than I was hoping for, but they seem to be the best option around for someone who wants an AT binding that is still stiff and huck-worthy.

That said, I'll probably have them on two pairs of my skis next year.
 
Pending more reviews I will definitely want a pair. They should have some kind of group buy thing, I bet we could get a ton of people on this site to get in on it.
 
i personally like this years seth graphic abit better.

ive seen the 08 seths and all i like is the bases and slight rocker, the graphic is too in your face, but i'd buy it

does anyone know the graphic on the fujitave?

the el ray in a 178 which i think is what he has is like 123-87-114...or somewhere around there.

i skied them and they are pretty fun all around.

i am most likely getting the same two skis only in 185
