07/08 Ski Picture Thread

actually, it's basically a 916 heelpiece, lightened up and featuring a 12 DIN spring, with a beefier Z12 toe piece that has a much wider AFD, which helps with stability and torsional flex.
 
And while we're at it, that super fat scratch looks much, much better in pictures than it does in person. The colours are ugly, the ski looks like it belongs at gay ski week in whistler. And, don't forget, it's called the "Steeze". Yes, you read that right...Go rossi!

It's about 110mm underfoot, and has about the same flex pattern as this year's scratch BC, which means that it should ski about as poorly, but slower edge to edge! hurray! Good luck finding a sweet spot on it.

Not sure about skis, but they are making a rockered snowboard called the Skate Banana, and (I think) one called the Banana Hammock that is full reverse camber.
 
my z 12s heelpiece ripped off. but nest year they're putting the world cup heel plate in instead which has a shit load of metal.
 
does anyone know about the rossi bling?

i saw them, they look like the stz. the rep said that there the new versions of the sprayers
 
The new STH12 heelpiece is basically a lighter version of the super solid S916 heel. Done deal.

The toe piece gets a wider AFD because, among other things, the narrower AFD caused twisting issues (couldn't suppport the boot properly) and that twisting was a factor in ripping out and breaking heelpieces on the Z12.

The STH toe piece also looks a little beefier than the Z12.

There's a lightened version of the 916 coming as well, usual 916 DIN range if I'm not mistaken/remember correctly.

Seriously though, if you run your bindings at less than 12, the STH would be fucking sick. It has the same heel as a 916 (lightened up a bit), same forward pressure adjustment (different from "newer" salomon, no tab, but a microadjust screw), and to be brutally honest, the STH toepiece is supposed to be BETTER than the 912/914 as far as release, safety, and staying in. No word on whether or not it's better than a 916 toepiece, but since the 916's toe functions essentially the same way as that of a 912/914, albeit with a shit ton more metal, well, you can just kinda assume...

Take it for what it's worth, I might work for a salomon dealer. I do legitimately think it's a good binding.
 
Glad to hear that, I'd definitely be interested in a 14 DIN version if they make one...maybe could do with a 12 also. I'm glad it's going to have the wormscrew for adjusting forward pressue, fuck tabs man, I hate those things. if it has the 916 heel it'll be solid as all get-out, I'm only really thinking about whether or not I'd somehow explode the toe peice.
 
wtf the new AR6 from what I have seen is one of the gayest skis of the year. I seriously don't hope this year is the year Armada becomes watered down and gay. I could totally see it happening, they will just become the next Salomon who makes cheap skis and overprices them to make money.
 
i really have no idea what you are talking about, you are claiming that armada is going to be the next salomon because they make cheap skis... but all that you are basing this on is because next years AR6 has a "gay" graphic?

dude im pretty sure a graphic doesnt make a ski, and im also pretty sure armada is not going to cheap out and over price their skis they are like the second most influentual ski company in park and freestyle skiing i really dont think there gunna abandon the free skiing and go to a big business stand where they only see skiers and dollar signs
 
ok that is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard.

you cant judge an excellent performing ski like the ar6 by its graphic.

just because you dont like the graphic doesnt mean everyone else doesnt. and you cant say that about salomon. they are one of the leading ski companies and have been for a long time.
 
my coach alredy has next years PEs an they are the exact same as all the others, just different graphic and studs.
