This is what I have always heard a progressive sidecut meant. The ability to initiate a turn quickly, but less tail so that you are not locked into a turn when you do not want to be. The Seth Vicious was the first ski I know of where the term was used. If you look at the pistols dimensions, 128 95 118, versus the vicious, 130 98 118, you see the greater difference b/w the tip and tail. Generally the narrower tail in proportion to the tip and waist means you can slide the ski when you want to, you are less locked into a carve. Having skied the vicious and the pistol I much prefer the vicious. It turns when you want it to, but doesn't lock you in a carve the way the pistol does.
