your MBP will have a sickkk video card, so if you're looking for that i'd recommend switching. Plus its a nice portable computer that you can move, always a plus for school. And if you said you have a second screen and ext hard drives, dont even hesitate. go MBP

well, not really. If you move a file, the whole library is going nuts and ends up going corrupted, so what Apple did was "hide" that library, so people get the idea that they're not supposed to move the pictures on and on. And if you actually know how to get to the actual file (through iphoto)...

you need WAY more ram. That's whats making it slow. 512 for final cut (pro?, express?) is really not enough. And try to use no other apps when you're using final cut, cause YES it's really demanding, especially when rendering.

iphoto "hides" all its photos so taht you can't move them, because if you move them it fucks all iphoto up.
